Mario 128?

Now i was looking for some articles i read a while back, but I couldn't find them. I'm just going to state what I've read (sorry i couldn't post the links to the articles), and see if anyone else has heard anything else.

Supposedly N is keeping this shrouded in secrecy until E3, because it's going to contain ideas never before seen, which they're afraid other companies would steal, and incorporate into their games before Mario 128 comes out. And pretty much the only other thing I've read is that it WILL be coming to the gamecube? Thoughts? Any more information? Comments? Post!

I still have no idea what Nintendo is conjuring up my patenting a camera thingy for themselves. It could be related to this.

It might be what the next console is all about...

Mario 128 was originally going to be for GameCube, to prove that it could handle 128 individually operating sprites without running down the processor and killing the framerate. Unfortunately, the project was scrapped for GameCube and will now be for Revolution. There is really no information other than that, though, so for now, I have no excitement for it.

We asked Fils-Aime if what's referred to as Mario 128 is still a Gamecube title. His answer: "You know, Mr. Miyamoto said that quite emphatically in the last couple of days, so ... it's coming out on Gamecube!"

There ya go nforcer. That's why I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it. EGM tends not to misquote, so unless a Nintendo corporate is just flat out lieing, then you can be pretty sure it's comin to the GC. And I know it was pretty much a tech demo, but Miyamoto has said that there are revolutionary (no pun, not referring to the Revolution) things in Mario 128 that they are keeping very secret so other developers don't steal the ideas and put a game out there utilizing them before Mario 128 can come out. But supposedly it is coming to the GC

Anyway, I am really looking forward to this new game. All the Mario games have been good and this one will probably live up to those standards.

No offense, I'm getting a little tired of seeing discussions about Revolution. Hasn't everything that can be said about it already been said? It supposedly comes out in late 2006. That's a long way away. What's the point of speculating? Wait until E3... they're supposed to unveil something about it then.

this topic has nothing to do about revolution. it's Mario 128, which is supposed to be coming to the 'cube.

EDIT: @ nforcer: why did you link me there? that has nothing to do with what could be new about mario 128. when i say "revolutionary", i'm not referring to the next Nintendo console, i'm meaning it literally, as in what might be new, or video-game changing.

My bad. When I saw "revolutionary", I thought Revolution. When StarOceanFanboy said something about the Nintendo Revolution, I took it that's what you were talkin' about. Miscommunication, sorry.
