I dont know...I loved Sands of Time, but I have heard some not so great things about Warrior Within. I played the demo, though it was meh. It just seems like Ubisoft is trying to attract people to the game by adding lots of blood and sacrificing other things like Plot and Dialogue.
Here's the thing. Sands of Time was immensely awesome- nothing else gave you that thrill of being able to effortlessly pull off incredible moves. The combat was a repetitive as hell, yeah, but I liked it. Warrior Within added blood (copious amounts thereof) and improved the combat system immensely- almost too much, really. The prince's sarcastic and dark attitude in WW doesn't fit him at all compared to his altruistic self in the last game, and the fighting system feels overdone- there are just too many combo moves and situations to use them in. As for those that say they were just trying to attract a wider crowd, well, can you really blame them? They put out an incredible, GOTY winning product last time around, and it sold horribly. So they're trying to keep the spirit of the game, while fixing problems in the last one and simultaneously attracting a larger audience.
Seems to me like in trying to fix the problems of the first, they overcompensated. So the first was too nice, the second too naughty, and the inevitable third will be perfect.
