    PSP Videos

PSP is looking better than * to me. But I don't care too much about either one. I won't even attempt to get one until way after Christmas.

Just comment on the videos, don't start a flame war. :/

    PSP commercial:

(If you only watch one video here, make it this one. Shows what UMD's look like, where they go, some games, and shows up-close details on the PSP, and even the screen at which you choose what you want to do.)

    PSP Gameroll:

    (Shows about 30 games)

    (Shows
    1. Doko Demo Issyo
    2. A nice looking strategy game
    3. Chronicle The Chaos Tower
    4. AI
    5. YS *creams self* (RPG)
    6. Zone of Control
    7. Ape Escape mini games game

    PSP Title Line-up Part.2:

    3. Metal Gear Ac!d
    4. Jong Fight Club
    5. Coded Arms
    6. AI (again)
    7. Puyo Pop
    8. Puzzle Bobble Pocket (yay)
    9. Ridge Racer)

    PSP Title Line-up Part.3:

    (Shows

    2. Japanese Action RPG
    3. Stand Alone Complex

    6. Gaharv Trilogy (Another RPG)
    7. Dead Aggresive (mech warrior type game)
    8. Lumines)

    Advent Children:
    http://www.kikizo.com/viewer/vidview...ntchildren.wmv
(Just basically a trailer for the movie, but it's being played on the PSP)

    Metal Gear Ac!d - 1:
    http://www.kikizo.com/viewer/vidview...algearacid.wmv
(Very interesting take on the gameplay)

    Need for Speed Underground Rvials:
    http://files.ea.com/downloads/eagame...sur_psp_hi.mov
    (oh woah)

    Tiger Woods PGA Tour:
    http://files.ea.com/downloads/eagame...sur_psp_hi.mov
(Typical Tiger Woods game, they just keep getting better)

I will add videos to the topic as they come to me, feel free to send me some links.

One of the reasons I'm looking forward to the PSP more is because of the RPG's. I bought a GBA because of that but I was dissapointed.

Must say some cool rpgs there ... also some other cool games ... Hm.. Only one I saw till now was MG:Ac!d on g4techtv and well.. I'm not a big cardgame fan (usely blends to mant stupid rules) so unless they have it simple I'll probly hate it.

The rpg with the cut scenes .. I know it from somewhere, but can't member.. But I hope the battles are not what I think they are lol ... Um .. The other rpg on that reel .. Gaharv Trilogy looks cool. Last but not least on my list TOD2 I had it for the ps1 I liked it... oh wait.. YS .... I played one for the SNES it was great.. I love the YS series

Yes, thank you very much Jewpin. Fixed for the people..

If anyone else knows what the names of the games with indecipherable names are, feel free to throw 'em here.

I'm not a big fan of the touch screen myself. Anyway.. who cares about messaging? I've had a cellphone for years now, been able to do that for a while. I don't want to see people's shitty handwriting either. :P

But it's all preference. The graphics are a little better than playstation, but it will look better than playstation because of the size of the screen as opposed to the size of a television. Nintendo DS's graphics will be about as good at Nintendo 64 though, which wouldn't be as impressive as playstation (correct me if I'm wrong). Ultimately though, I'd rather be sitting down for hours playing an RPG rather than drawing stuff for characters to pretend to understand.

                RE: Re: RE: PSP Videos

Square and Nintendo aren't on good terms, after all, FF7 was supposed to be made and released on N64. I think we'll most likely see something like FFIII on PSP. Actually, I'm not quite sure how Nintendo and Square are doing.. but my guess would still be not too great. They very well could have remade a few games for GBA but instead remade them for playstation.

The touchscreen isn't new.. many pocket PC's and organizers have them. They have little games like the ones nintendo DS has. It's like when Sony came out with the EyeToy. "OMG NEVER SEEN BEFORE EYETOY GAMES", when in reality it was just a webcam with games that have been bundled with webcams before. I don't really want to bother with all that anyway, I'd rather have it all in one little package. Something easy I can stick in my pocket.

I didn't really notice a frame drop in any of the videos, but that could just be me.. or just be you. I supposed we'll see that when it's released. It could be your computer, or connection, or.. anything.

The Nintendo DS has the graphic capabilities of the N64, but the due to the size of the screen the polygons are more closer together, making the games look slightly better than the N64 graphics. Also, the DS runs at 60 frames per second, this allows for fog and cell-shading.

The only problem I see with the PSP is the battery life. They say the PSP only has a battery that provides four to six hours of gameplay, compared to six to ten on the DS. It would suck if you were on a long plane ride, or car ride and your battery ran out. IT even said on IGN that the PSP's graphic life could be less depending on the graphics of the game.

True. But Sony also had batterylife problems when the "walkman" came out. So in time, the batterylife will get better. Also, the battery used in the PSP is a rather inexpensive one ($45), so if you were going on a long trip, you could always purchase another battery and you have double the life.

You get used to putting stuff like that on the charger at night, unless your planning on spending more than six hours on it in 1 day..
