    Question.

Can someone tell me what Tales of Symphonia and Skies of Arcadia are like. Which one is better because I plan on buying one of them. Thanks.

Skies of Arcadia is good, but it was originally on the DC... Go buy Grandia Xtreme- the battle system is the only one I don't get bored with.

      I'll break it down.
      Tales of Symphonia:
      +Graphics are great
      +Solid Music
+Has a real time battle system
      +Is 4 players (SWEET)
+The main character's voice is Robin from Teen Titans
-The story sucks, cliches and such
-Most of the characters voices are very annoying

      Skies of Arcadia
      +Features a solid story
      +Cool Characters abound
+Ship vs. Ship combat is WAY cool
      +Traditional, yet inventive normal combat
      -Weak DC era graphics
      -Bad sound quality

If you are lookin for Multiplayer fun or are new to RPGs TOS is for you.

If you are lookin for a solid story or are more of a traditional RPGamer go with Skies of Arcadia.

Thanks for the help. I might go with Skies of Arcadia, then maybe get Tales of Symphonia when the price drops.

Tales can be moderately to insanely difficult depending on the difficulty you set it on. You can litterally spend 300 hours and not see everything the game has to have. I also liked the voice acting, don't know what you people are talking about =p.

But I haven't played skies so I can't really compare.

Might as well expand a bit on tales of symphonia.

                  Difficulty:

When you first get the game you can select normal and hard. Normal won't give you to much trouble, you'll probably get 10 gameovers throughout the game unless you spend a lot of time leveling. There are also sidebosses that even on normal will kick your ass, I always love a challenge. The thing that always annoys me about games is a really easy last boss. Well, I personally had a hell of a time with him (I used the max amount of every healing and reviving item in the game besides elixers and only beat him with one person alive.), but my brother on the other hand hardly got hurt because he leveled and did all the sidequests /shrug, depends how you want to play the game. Once you beat the game once you can play through again on mania... wish is.... mania. The first boss killed my entire group in one hit .

                  Sound:

As far as voice acting goes, I liked it, but I also hear a lot of complaints, so it's ultimately up to your tastes. There's an option to turn the voices off if you want. (The only voice that annoyed my was Sylph. DEAR GOD MY EARS., good thing she only had like 3 lines.)

The battle and background music is well done, I liked it a lot. Maybe not perfect but no complaints from me. Soundeffects... I never notice the things, but I suppose if they didn't annoy me that's a good thing.

                  Plot:

The first half of the first disc is pretty straight forward, plots alright, little far-fetched but ok, I'll take it. Second half it twist and twists and twists again. I think I liked the plot a lot more once it got a bit deeper, I love it when a twist actually suprises you, unlike that predictable "How much you want to bet she dies halfway through the game" shiz in 99% of RPGs =p. Second disc just gets plain confusing, but whatever, I get to beat things up! Would give examples but it's hard to say anything without spoiling the entire game.

                  Battle system:

Woot! I love real time battles. It takes a while to get used to it (I didn't know how to cast until like the third dungeon when that fire seal dude was whoopin me ) but it's pretty neat. The best part is probably being able to have a second player control one of the other 4 charicters in the battlefield (Think up to 4 can play at once, not entirely sure how though). I give it a 10/10 :O.

                  and umm....

Zelos is a pimp, that is all.

EDIT: Oh, never go on the gamefaq messege boards. Ever. There are so many topics where the topic title is "so and so is actual blah and blah *SPOILERS*"

                    Get Xenogears.

                    It's so much better. Probably.
