Are there any rhythm games out there that take an approach to progression more like an incremental game? I'm curious if the exponential growth features seen in "Idle Games" have started to spill over to other genre's progression systems. It would seem to fit into more "RPG Like" systems overall.

Re: Incremental Rhythm Game?
i remember someone dabbling in the idea of an FFR RPG, but it never really took off. i think a rhythm game RPG with a leveling system would be a cool idea.
i know there's crypt of the necrodancer as a dungeon exploring kind of rhythm game, but not really any like you're describing.

Something like the DDR extreme 2 "story" mode was cool and I liked the way they went about progressive difficulty

Re: Incremental Rhythm Game?
If it was using an "FFR Type" game, I'd imagine it something like this I guess -
(Making Up Numbers)
Perfect - +1
Good - +.5
Average - 0
Miss - (-5)
Boo - (-1)
Score 1,000 Points to Reach Level 2
- Unlock Cool Stuff
At level two, all the point values double from before.
Score 3,000 Points to Reach Level 3
- Unlock Cool Stuff
- Double point values again
Etc.
Add achievements that add a flat multiplier to your score values (Maybe .5x per)
- Have an EXP scoreboard (Would Require Scientific Notation Eventually).
----------
I mean it's not really that different from mapping out a linear progression system, but it feels more exciting. Who doesn't like seeing numbers go up in the rhythm gaming community?
Edit:// I should mention that the individual level high scores would still be based on Raw Score in this kinda dealLast edited by TheSaxRunner05; 11-18-2018, 11:06 PM.Comment
