Re: Celeste
Played on launch, really good game! It's interesting that for the most part it plays more like a puzzle game than a precision platformer due to the 8-directional dash, tight controls and level design.
Got everything besides the golden strawberries:
I'm also working on a Mirror Temple (Mirror Magic Mix) chart. -
Re: Celeste

Another cool thing is the speedrunning element Celeste shows you by the time you start learning the advanced movement tech once you start getting into B-Sides.Played on launch, really good game! Also dang, I've yet to complete 8-C. You have way less deaths and playtime than me lmao.
Been trying to learn to speedrun through the main story right now (any%), got a 1:30ish time with just Chapters 1 & 2 learned so far.

Re: Celeste
The advanced movements make even simple screens super fun to traverse and optimize.
I was intending to speedrun any% as well later on, with more time and after setting up a few things for my stream. I've only tried my hand at learning chapter 1 and some little tricks like the skip in chapter 5.
That death count & time is actually slightly inflated from doing extra stuff on the A-side levels, for reference my sightread time & deaths for the B and C-sides (minus deaths in the first screen):

Re: Celeste
Finished it up shortly after release through all the B side levels, getting all the hearts.
Haven't gone back to it to finish up any C side.
Amazing game overall though. Polished extremely well and very fun. Would have sank more time into it / speedruns if I wasn't so busy, as it looks fun as hell to run.Last edited by Reach; 03-1-2018, 01:11 PM.

Re: Celeste
my game currently looks like:

my death count is a little inflated from when i got all strawberries/hearts (reference
is the earliest ss i could find ), but playtime is *heavily* inflated from spending time doing golden strawberries
actual best death counts (i have golden strawberries from city and old site):

=================================
also, minor spoiler (just the strawberry count):

Re: Celeste
You guys are hardcore. I always struggle with these kinds of games.
I watched MacGravel play through some of it and I lost my mind FOR himLast edited by Kraezymann; 03-2-2018, 10:45 AM.Comment

Re: Celeste
I have close to 500 deaths in the hotel on my first run through.
I'm awful at these kinda games, and that's part of the fun for it.Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun beepComment

Re: Celeste
Dedicated a solid few weeks to the game and went a little crazy, but I'm pretty close to completion:

There are 200 strawberries in total: 175 throughout the game, then 24 golden strawberries for clearing each A, B, and C Side level without dying, and one more winged golden strawberry for clearing Chapter 1 without dashing. So far I've managed the no-dash and deathless strawberries in Chapter 1 and deathless in Chapter 2 (so this screenshot is a tad outdated).
Here's what you have to look forward to once you get to the C-Sides (a clip I uploaded yesterday of Chapter 7's C-Side):
