It looks like no one's made or has intentions to make this thread, so I will! This thread will serve as the main hub for all Sm4sh talk and battle coordination!
How it works:
On the ladder, the lower your number, the better your placement.
For example:
1. yo man im awesome
2. hey dude im alright
3. sup bro im average
4. hi friend im awful
...And so on. When you ask to be placed on the ladder, you may challenge anyone on the ladder for your FIRST match. If you win, you take their spot, and they move down 1. If you lose, you start at the bottom and you have to work your way up. To move up the ladder, you may challenge the players who are either 1 or 2 spots above you. That means that #6 can challenge #5 and #4, but not #3. Once per week (excluding players ranked #2 and #3), you may challenge the #1 player.
If you are victorious in your challenge, you will take that players rank, and they will move down 1. If you lose, nothing happens, you'll just have to try again eventually!
To challenge a player, you must post in the thread, and you should also message them privately, as some players may not always check this thread. IT'S IMPERATIVE THAT YOU POST THE CHALLENGE IN THE THREAD OR THE CHALLENGE WILL BE CONSIDERED NULL.
Inactivity:
You CANNOT decline a challenge. Doing so will equate to a forfeit, where it is assumed the challenger won the match.
Simply not responding to a challenge and not participating in the match will also result in a forfeit.
If you do not participate in any ranked ladder matches for a full month without any prior notice of intentional leave, you will be sent back down to the bottom of the ladder.
If you know you will be away/unable to play for an extended period of time (longer than 1 week), let me know and I will freeze you on the ladder, so you cannot move up or down the ladder for the allotted time.
Match Rules:
Matches must follow these guidelines to be considered valid:
Stock: 3 Stocks
Items: None unless agreed upon otherwise
Custom Movesets: Legal, but NO equipment
Character: Your Choice
Legal Stages: Most Omega form stages, Battlefield, Yoshi's Island, Prism Tower, Reset Bomb Forest
Banned Stages: Pictochat 2, Pac Man Maze
All matches will be best 2 out of 3, so the first player to win twice wins overall.
When challenging the #1 ranked player, the match is best 3 out of 5.
Challenge Limit:
You can challenge your way up as often as you like. However, if you are rank 4 or below (5, 6, 7, etc.), you can only challenge the #1 player once a week. Also, you can only challenge the same person twice in 1 week. That way people can't spam challenges over and over again when they keep losing.
Disconnections/Infractions:
A disconnect will result in 1 loss. If you do not follow the match setup, you will be DQ'd and move down a spot on the ladder.
Results:
The results of your match should be PM'd to me directly, please BE HONEST. This thread is for Sm4sh, not drama.
