Anyone remember/played this game? I actually found out about stepmania and ffr through the elastomania community 
As well as going in tournaments and battles, I used to be really into speed-running and lowering my total time for the 54 original internal levels up until about 3-4 years ago, then I rarely played it at all.
The world record total time just recently went under 35 minutes...my personal total time is a little under 38 minutes and that's from hours and hours of whoring the same level (some are only 15 secs long)...just to give you an idea of how insane that is.
Here's a video of ALL the levels done start to finish with WR runs (some have been beaten already but still, this is fucked)

If you know how much finesse is involved in elastomania then you'll appreciate this vid way more
