went ten pages back, didn't see a thread for this other than a touhou specific one

this isn't terribly impressive, just something i slapped together. i get super sloppy near the end

i'll return with more if there's enough interest

i also encourage others to post stuff

I have Deathsmiles, Ikaruga and Prismatic Solid, and I can't one credit clear any of them. I tried to get good at Deathsmiles, but some of the endings had 11 year old sideboob and I'm not a pedophile.

I guess we're talking danmaku type schmups here?

The eXceed series is pretty good, especially the third one.

DoDonPachi and DoDonPachi Daioujou are both really good as well.

While we're talking about DoDonPachi, Ketsuipachi is apparently really cool as well, though I haven't played it at all heh

Danmaku aside, Jamestown is really good.

Yay a shmup thread!

Anyway, I greatly enjoy shmups on the xbox 360 and MAME, and I would recommend some of the following:


Eschatos (has really great music too)

Muchi Muchi Pork:

Akai Katana Shin:

Mushihimesama Futari:

If you aren't into the xbox 360, I would recommend downloading shmupmame and emulating some stuff. There are some incredible games that are easily emulated on mame.

Stuff such as Progear no Arashi, Battle Garegga, Batrider, Battle Bakraid, Dangun Feveron, Giga Wing, Esp.Ra.De, Gradius series, Parodius series, Salamander 1 and 2, Guwange, the list goes on...

in my experience, everything is harder than it looks, especially when someone makes it look easy. i think i made that sound completely self-apparent.

nice vids everyone, it's great to see all this. i do prefer danmaku, but i enjoy all kinds. tool-assisted vids are nice, too. at the cost of being rather unimpressive, sometimes they can be even more entertaining to watch.

on another note, i'm working on a replay, but it's driving me nuts. i may just do something easier, to relax a bit.
edit: i'm so close to getting this...
