Music is defined as any combination of sounds that is pleasing to the ear, so while one person may find it as "noise" another person can find it pleasing to the ear and so call "vibe" with it as how I think the kids would say it these days.

Apologies for the somewhat bump, but I thought I'd share my thoughts.

Fan fiction aside, I'm looking just at the game itself.

The horror aspects are limited in my opinion. There is the music which layers as the player collects more notes, the limited vision with how dark the environment is, and obviously the slenderman following the player, which, when you lose and he finds you, if the volume is high, that makes the player jump. Granted, I don't have surround sound, not did I have the pleasure of experiencing it in a dark room, I did play it at 4 AM.

The game has limited replay value as the objective is always the same and the notes are almost always in the same locations. If you lose, and you want to win, there is the replay value present.

Overall, it's a nice introduction to the suspense and horror genre and at about 56MB for the download, it's worth a try. And it's free to play.

              7.5/10

When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

Am I the only person that doesn't find this game creepy or scary? I've been creeped out by other games, mainly because I have a sense of who I am and what got me where I'm at. Ooh, so spooky, I'm walking around a forrest with giant footsteps following me. For a game that's supposed to freak me out, you think there'd be something more than walking around collecting pages. The first time I actually saw Slenderman, I didn't even flinch; it was expected. This game is just cheap, mainly because of the resources used to make it. The idea of the Slenderman character could have been played out much better than some poorly made piece of garbage game like this.

For the record andy, being scared by high volume does not mean the game is scary overall. I can play you a clip of a children's show and boost the volume for a quick instant. Would you really be afraid of the show or by the fact that I just blew your eardrums out?

EDIT: Immersion was the word I wanted to use but couldn't remember when I was super tired. There isn't any in this "game".

to be honest this game was extremely creative only because of its lack of resources and really any depth and yet it can still scare most players into not even playing. not that scary once you get adjusted, yeah, but its still worth a play or two.

I don't get why it scares people. There's literally two things that can scare you in this game and neither were scary the first time I played through it. It's like modern horror movies; they only attempt to scare you with cheap scares like things that pop out at you or loud noises. Neither of those things are truly scary.

Well, I never used the word scare or scary in my previous post, I said it makes the player jump. Loud noises are usually good at doing that, even if you expect the noise.

No. It wasn't scary, but some guy following you is odd and therefore in a roundabout way creepy.

It really all comes down to the player. Some of us are more inclined to find these types of games scary or creepy while others have been desensitized of the horror elements the game attempts to employ.
