Re: TWG XXXII Signup Stuff - Hosts
Chardish
I'm running with my Hidden Immunity Statue idea. 16 players, 3 wolves, 1 seer, 1 channeler (read link for more info), and one very interesting artifact that can make or break the game for either team if played properly.
I think that the wolves have a better shot at winning this one than in recent games because they can work together to find the statue (only 1 wolf victory in all of 20-30, so that's something that's in need of attention).
However, the statue can help either side, which is what makes it such an interesting tool (and a variable that, much like the prosecutor, should generate a lot of possibilities for discussion.)
I ran the numbers, and there's about a 75% chance of the statue being found in the game. I think that's considerable enough that it's likely to be found without being certain enough that it will definitely be found.
Most of the games I've run recently have been failed experiments, because they've been trying to deviate too far from standard TWG, but this one is a standard game with one interesting element - I'm not trying something completely new here. Give it a shot - I don't think it will disappoint.

We'll start with sixteen players. Number of wolves versus number of humans is still TBD, but that'll be announced before the game starts (you won't be THAT in the dark). If we need to, it'll work with fourteen, too.
So, you won't know what roles there are. Is there a seer? Are there two? Can you count on being guarded if I come out? Nobody knows.
So, you can also fake any role you want. Conversely, you can't immediately trust any information that's given.
This game is designed to be more fun than serious. Skill can and should definitely be used, but it should be directed at patterns and watching the other people rather than formulating the best plan for the blues and alliance-forming. Also, I'm not guaranteeing balance. The game won't be designed lopsided, as I'm trying hard to balance it as much as I can, but I'm mostly presuming the can't-trust-public-information fact will equalize a whole lot.
Possible roles and abilities in this game will include, but by no means be exclusive to, roles we've seen here at FFR. Like I said, you can't count on anything, nor can you expect everything.RIPComment

Re: TWG XXXII Signup Stuff - Host Voting NOW
Chardish, Guido's game seems to be put together very quickly... I'd like to give him a bit more time to formulate his plans and ideas, plus work on balance.RIPComment

Re: TWG XXXII Signup Stuff - Host Voting NOW
Hah, you're missing the point of the balance issue, Tass. Besides it probably not being an issue, the game is designed such that a little imbalance shouldn't affect the overall fun of the game. On top of that, I'm not gonna want to host for a while after this, but whatever.
So, suffice it to say, I'm not going to work hard enough to assure balance. Maybe it'll be a perfectly balanced game, but I guarantee nothing.

I've played those kind of games on mafiascum (Actually, almost all the games on mafiascum is like that) and I have to say it is quite fun, though it might not be always balanced I think it is a good idea and a good change to the current TWG.Comment

Sorry, bby, but I already promised to play Chardish's game.
Besides, I think you're going to be super busy with work and Disgaea and the occasional girlfriend visits to run a game.Comment

KilgaI watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.Comment
