    RE: jTWG?

I'm not hosting again. I don't think anyone would be interested after the debacle of the last few games.

But if anyone does, hell i'm in.

      RE: jTWG?

By the look of things in TWG I don't think a jTWG seems like a good idea. (I know I'm not helping)

I say we still lay off for a while.

What I've noticed in jTWG is really just a lack of interest in the game. If we could get people to join and actually PLAY the game, might not be too bad.

At this point, I think it's best to abandon jTWG entirely. If you're not up to par with TWG by now, you shouldn't be playing anymore anyway.

No on jTWG! We need to figure out a better system before we start that crap up again. (Yes, I realize that I was part of that crap)

Well we could give bans for people who dont take it seriously, I mean just because it's "jtwg" doesn't mean it has to be a VIP GB. It's just a lower competition level. I never trashed jtwg but yes I know a lot of people who did. So just don't let them in or ban them from the forum. (Obviously I would need a mod to back me on this as I don't have such powers)

Aw man. I wanted to try hosting a jTWG soon. Why don't we all just see how this TWG goes before any forms of decisions are made.

In reference to Afrobean's post: What about the people who join the usergroup but haven't played before? How do they learn to play?

The only people I see doing that are forum regulars anyway. As a general rule, forum regulars are more intelligent than average, and I believe that they could handle playing in a TWG for their first game, given that they've read old games and know the rules.

That makes sense, but I still think there should be a lower level of play for people to practice on.

I could not have picked a worse time to join this group.

If you guys ever actually decide to start one, i want to try it out.

Maybe just periodic games played with a few new people and a few old people. It doesn't seem as though there is enough interest for two full games.

That's the kind of thing I was thinking about. I think that would be a good idea to try, but we should still wait to see how this TWG goes first.

I'd like to play in a TWG game in the future. And on the subject on whether or not there should be a jTWG, I think that everyone by now knows how the game is played. And another thing: I think I've learned my lesson so can you end my eternal suspension from TWG? Since there might not be a jTWG anymore, I won't be able to play at all.

                              Why jTWG was created

Mostly, it was just because TWG was hitting its peak, and there weren't enough spots to go around. The whole informality thing was (sort of) intended, and I think it worked out rather well. The hardcore TWGers got a lot of clutter-free games, and everybody else got to play the game.

As for the lower level of play... well... it was originally designed for newbies, and it still seems like it is, so jTWG would probably stay that way if it were to start again.

Basically, I think that jTWG will start up again when there are more than enough people to fill two games.

(Wow, looking through old jTWG threads brings back so many memories, haha.)
