    help...

okay i feel pretty ignorant right now for not figuring out how to do this but... i am at the moment trying my hand at making a simfile for ffr on stepmania. the only problem is the fact i seem to be lost on what to do. things like adding BPM or just really accurately charting seems impossible with what i have been doing so far. i look at all the songs on here and am now wondering how do the step artists make them?

    Re: help...

Well there are a bunch of stickies that are up to help you out, like these:

    Patashu's 2011 Stepping Guide
Play/test my simfile in progress thread
    Ducky's simfiling guide (old)
How do I make a simfile for FFR?

    Simulator Files (simfiles) Forum
FFR Permission Subforum (for FFR files if you are making one)

These stickies and forums contain a multitude of information on how to set BPMs, good pattern styles, tips and tricks for stepping, and more.

    Hope this helps!

Patashu's guide covers everything you would ever need and then some. Also good luck submitting your file.

What difficulty range are you shooting for? Depending on how hard or easy you're making it advice will differ a bit. Just curious what you're shooting for

                          Re: help...

hard to say , the dragonforce packs are pretty easy to "pass" for me ..., more or less depends on the file.
Revolution Deathsquad from the CMDKDF-Pack was pretty difficult for me, and not that fun to play at all ( the second one)
yet, i dont need incredibly difficult files with wicked / nearly impossible steps.

For me the fun in playing a file is more important than the difficulty.
Yet here and then i am playing easy files as well. xD

My absolute fav file from all the dragonforce songs / packs / files i have played yet,is the "Flame of Youth" by Dog_E.

and "My Spirit will go on" by Linus is pretty epic as well.
