Steps won't write?

So I recently began stepping to songs, but something's wrong. For some reason the steps won't write to their .sm files, so even though I can play them just fine on Stepmania I can't copy the .sm files and pass them along to others for testing. Tried googling, no dice. What's up?

If you are using windows vista you'll need to show compatibility files.



I'm guessing that's the OS you're using since I had the same problem. I don't have that problem now that I'm on 7, but it is possible that it could do that on 7 as well.


EDIT: I should mention that you'd click compatibility files in the folder that your charts would be in. So if your charts are in songs -> my creations, you'd click it in the my creations folder.

if you're using vista or windows 7 just stay away from Program Files
