Re: Flash Flash Revolution Community Pack 3 Released
Pretty much deleted my old post and here, updated reviews.
(Gundam-Dude) Amaryllis - Cool, not too many mines in this file. Felt almost like a yesssss file, what with the CrAzY cOlOrS and JaZzY mUsIcZ. Not too much to say about this, really. I enjoyed it, especially the 48th stuff near the end. Would have liked to see that freeze near the end as a roll, but oh well. 6/10
(Kommisar) Arcadian - I would mention MA but I don't have any. w/e. File was pretty tight, totally didn't expect the 24th streams. Transitions were well-done and felt natural. Glad to see less mines compared to the files before this. Fun, some replay value, especially when trying to nail that stream. 7/10
(Icyworld) AI Bomb - Short and fun. Glad to see icy becoming a really cool simfile artist :') Also glad to see even less mines than Arcadian lol. Not much else to say really. Fun and definitely replayable. 7/10
(Xayphon) Clione - Didn't feel like the beginning piano was synced correctly, and some parts were incorrect. File was a tad bit messy and freezes were abused, only real fun part I thought was that flute solo or whatever wind instrument that is. Other than that, I didn't think it was a fun file. Sorry duder. 4/10
(Rogdor) Cocaine Voltron - Make multiple difficulties damnit, especially since you step a lot of crazy stuff. File was fun but too easy for the song. Could have used a ton of xmods as well. Not much else to say about this one either lol. 7/10
(Niala) Colibri - My GFX are terrible :'( File is really fun, some parts are turbogay (like the jumpjacks but that's only in two sections) though. Liked the slow down idea, speedups are well done as well. ps who the fuc are you 8/10
(Kommisar) Computer Music - Kinda boring, imo. Definitely not 2008, that's for sure. Good as an MA file and probably for rates. 5/10
(Detrimentalist) Cory In Da House - rofl/10
(Gundam-Dude) Crescendo - Really boring, actually. Gimmicks kinda brought some coolness into the file but I still yawned extensively while playing. Sorry. 3/10
(npv) Dajoolggeh - I had to quit out, the song was terrible.
(0+Detrimentalist) Disconnected Hazard - Heavy was a blast to play, I still have issues nailing the 16th stream. Light was a completely different chart to play and equally as awesome. I nailed that 16th stream though, as well as the polyrhythms. Great charts you two. 8/10
(AsphyxZero) Do Back Burn - I missed a few sounds that are totally audible during the beginning. ****. Oh well, the minijack part that goes with the bass is still my favorite part of the file. 32nds are cool too. Decent MA file; would probably be good on higher rates. UNBIASED REVIEWS HOLY **** 7/10
(Duplica) Doorbellsplosion - Decently fun freeform file. I loved the 32nd stream at the end, was a tad bit lack luster throughout and there were a ton of things I would have done different. Not too bad though. 6/10
(Kommisar) Enraptured Soulz - Heavy was a blast, it held my attention for the entire file. Not too much different than Exige's, it actually felt like a more layered version. I loved Exige's version, but I think I like this one a bit more. Light was definitely a **** load harder, especially the jacks and the 32nd trill at the end (the part leading up to the trill is ez). Heavy gets 9/10, light gets 8/10
(bmah) Extrema Pt.2 - What the ****. I totally wasn't expecting you step this like you did. It was fun and really weird and probably incorrect at times but it's fun. Can't stand the preview music though, I was really planning on skipping this based on preview music alone. But glad I didn't. 9/10
(Xayphon) Fast Asleep - Again, you abused mini freezes. But this file is still the same cool file you sent to patashu's pack. Definitely fun and tricky in some parts (ie da bursts). 48ths are cool, a few of the bursts were fun to hit. Replayable, definitely. 8/10
(john11) Fleet of the Littleships - Slow and boring, although some parts are kinda fun. Not too much replay value in this. Loved the fact that there were no mines (hatin on dem mines). 4/10
(Moches) Futurism - Super fun and upbeat. Some mine placements were iffy though, but oh well. The solo was well done, though some parts of that were definitely questionable. Playing this again though. 9/10
(Scylaax) Hiyayaka Ice - Sounds super boring and it's a long version.
(Cyrenics) I Turn To You - I had to quit out, boring and boring. It was also really boring. 1/10
(Xayphon) In Love With You - Really fun, although there were a few parts that irked me. Those quad freezes are definitely not quads. Other than that, solid file and good for scoring. 7/10
(Rogdor) Innocence - The best innocence out of all three. Not too much to say, solid file and great for rates. Should have made a super dumb polyrhythms chart though. 9/10
Amaryllis - Well done; I'm glad this isn't overdumped it actually makes for an enjoyable file.
Arcadian - Alright. Good swell into the file, but the long 24th stream wasn't to my liking. (no im not just saying that cause im bad)
AI Bomb - I understand your love for jumpstream but on the whole I thought it was overstepped, esp towards the end. Decent though.
Clione - At the beginning your choice of patterns seemed iffy (mainly the jacks). Midsection was quite fun, then became understepped-ish during the light part (I dunno didn't flow too well imo); did the end percussion really alter between 24ths and 32nds? It was okay.
Cocaine Voltron - I thought this was quite fun; shame it wasn't xmod (although Macgravel stepped an xmod version didn't he?) Fitting steps & patterns to the song. I enjoyed this more than Ah Shwe Bah.
Colibri - I thought it was good. Some of the patterns were questionable. 16th jump section in the middle was maybe pushing it a little, though the end 16th jump section is fitting.
Computer Music - Another awesome SHE file by Kommisar. Great, easy, enjoyable, fun. Just a few minor personal quirks.
Cory in da House - PARTY EVERY WEEK BABY.
Crescendo - Pretty cool. Did you decide to be lazy and make the end of that solo all 16ths or is that really how it is? Seems kinda odd to transition from COLOURZ to 16ths
Krn npv file - Seemed kinda overstepped, but I thought it was pretty nice.
Disconnected Hazard - ...it was okay. Heavy seemed to include more hands, while Light had a section stepping 12ths to the phone noise with some minifreeze emphasis. Good enough file for the difficulty of the song, and both charts are feasible interpretations on that song.
Do Back Burn - Pretty well-stepped and replayable probably. Layering seemed a little quirky at one point but I could probably make sense of it after more playthroughs. I didn't like the graphics on this one for whatever reason
Doorbellsplosion - Not much to say about this one, other than that it's good. I don't think I would play this too often though. The solo part was hit and miss for the different sections for me, I dunno.
Enraptured Soulz - Heavy is pretty cool; an average difficulty file that I think I'd enjoy playing again. Beginner uhhh.... niec 32nd rolls :/
(it's good enough I guess, if you can't tell from now I don't really put a lot of thought in reviewing the difficult files)
Extrema Pt. 2 - There's something about this file (it might be the song) that just doesn't appeal to me. Steps are fine other than the trills that irked me a little bit. Certainly replayable, albeit possibly frustrating
Fast Asleep - So many freezes... gotta warm up a little bro (get it hyuk hyuk); okay file but honestly I didn't enjoy it that much and I wouldn't find myself replaying it too much.
Fleet of the littleships - Props to the GFX artist. Why wasn't Oni removed xd. Anyway, chill file. I noticed a few PR issues (I think xd) that should have been addressed; one section seemed a little offsync to me but I didn't check further
Futurism - moches bringin' dat swag. Very fun file, and great techinque that accentuates parts of the song quite nicely.
Hiyayaka ICE - The way you approached the intro/beginning to this song was perfect. Rest was okay, typical-ish scylaax to me. Some of the bursts towards the end of a few phrases that you stepped were a little questionable on my playthrough but it's probably a personal thing.
I Turn To You - I didn't expect much hearing the preview of this song honestly, and the file turned out something what I thought. You can probably blame song choice but it seemed quite bland. Layering appeared rather inconsistent but steady throughout phrases so I guess that it's okay.
In Love With You - Layering and pattern choices were a little wonky in a few sections. A few of the fast percussion phrases seemed misstepped but I could be wrong. The biggest complaint I have with this song is choosing to keep it at 100bpm: 200bpm would have been much more appropriate, or 100-200. Could/should have been cut imo. Overall, it was decent.
Innocence - WUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUB. Pretty good file I suppose. Might be a personal thing but the slow sections of this song were kinda awkward to play cause it was like sitting on the border of being chill, but not really. I don't know. xd
Intensive Care Unit - Herp derp renard. I don't really have much to say about this file at all really. Flow gets kinda disrupted when you hit the easy section. Yep.
Intermission -
