Jumps and Hands add onto your combo. Accuracy/MA counts everything as one thing (e.g. hitting a jump or hand will register as one marvelous).

imagine the freeze theory in that beginning and the main chorus, along with the nvlm theory in the hard parts... the file would be so amazing it'd get a 13/10

To Make the End of Battle, for example, was an overlayered piece of crap.

You're basing an entire pack's overall score on just one file out of the 100. If you actually go through the pack, you'll find a variety of files and stepping styles. Files were all judged on fun and replay value rather than technical perfection and structure so not every single file is as "overtechnical" as you make it out to be. We received many accurately stepped files that were in the end rejected because it lacked fun and replay value.

Well, maybe you have a point. And, no, I just used that one as an example. To be honest, I've got more, but I just used To Make the End of Battle as my most prominent example.

Others:
Song of Ashley (this isn't supposed to be a dump pack, so why was this even here)
Death Moon (are you freaking serious, this song's been stepped more times than I can care to count)
Eruption (what the **** is this color storm, I mean come on are you kidding me, could this be any less readable)
Luna Clock (yeah, Zagh's is way better than this crap, what are you thinking dude)

And well, maybe I just have a somewhat old-fashioned stepping mind, to be honest. Because I just don't enjoy too many of the newer packs. And to be honest, I'm not a fan of overstepped and massively layered songs and dumps in general, so I'm pretty biased in that regard. I don't want to come off as an ass, I just have a very different taste than most of the SM community. And it's a shame, because I don't see too many files catered to it.

Though I admit, there were files that were enjoyable. These include:
Blind Justice (I enjoy most of dimentio's files, they flow so nicely)
Mad Keyboard Zone (pretty humorous song choice, and it's an evenly done jack file)
Moon Child (great sync, even though a few patterns fell short, it's pretty good)
Phantom Ensemble (good patterns and song choice, nice buildup)

And I'm sure I have others on the list, but I'm kinda tired and a little cranky, so maybe I'm being too harsh.
