Epidermis and Knowing it = Breakcore

Edit: actually I think Knowing it is Jungle DNB. But epidermis is definatly Breakcore.

Files here are ok. I wouldn't play most of them though. Escpecially Plain Asia... Stop stepping that song plz?

Re: Xoon Mini Pack 2 Released

Giving a review on this, using weighted and unweighted ratings. (Weighted ratings take other factors into play, such as song choice, expectations/delivery, length, etc.)

          Ferrari - Alive
Strange song, to say the least. File is straightforward enough, but is killed by the song, which just isn't that steppable. Still surprisingly decent and I might play this again.
          weighted rating: 8/10
          unweighted rating: 6/10

          Synexi - BLN
If this is your first real file, I'm surprised. Actually quite fun--the jacks provide a nice challenge, although I'm utter **** at hitting them. Nice moments like the triples and jumps in there too. My only complaint is that the freezes could have been much more sparsely used and that the file feels somewhat generic without any factors to boost it up a notch or two. I still like this, though, and the song is pretty amusing. Those German chicks can rap!
          weighted rating: 6.5/10
          unweighted rating: 5.5/10

          Puppet - Dazzling Destiny
Didn’t like this as much as I thought I would, to be honest. Some parts feel overstepped and it doesn’t flow as well as the song does. The calmer parts were very nice, though, and nice to see this song finally having a decent chart.
          weighted rating: 5/10
          unweighted rating: 5.5/10

          Scylaax – Epidermis
VERY impressed with this, however. Other than one part where I had to hit a looong series of 8th jacks, this flowed perfectly, felt playable, everything just came together. Feels a little generic but whatever. Scylaax is getting better.
          weighted rating: 8.5/10
          unweighted rating: 7.5/10

          Scylaax - Knowing It
Not bad. This was pretty much sound in terms of accuracy, but I still don’t like it much. First of all, we get freezes for a full minute, and then suddenly into a trill. That took me by shock. At least give me a warning sign by adding in mines or something. Whatever works. The fast part is okay, not great but okay. The jumpjacks are just annoying to hit, though. I can’t complain that much about the file itself, just that the song isn’t too hot for stepping. Decent.
          weighted rating: 7.5/10
          unweighted rating: 6/10

          Mr.Bob - Night and Day
This is great. For the most part, flows very well, feels right on my fingers (balanced very well), and never abuses anything, instead bringing things together to make a very fun simfile. The graphics are awesome, too.
          weighted rating: 8.5/10
          unweighted rating: 8.5/10

          Gundam-Dude - Plain Asia
I wasn’t looking too forward to this from the beginning, but it’s not that bad I guess. Just generic steps to an awesome touhou song (who is this DARK Phoenix you speak of?) The entire thing just seemed a bit rushed. You could do better.
          weighted rating: 4/10
          unweighted rating: 5/10

          moches – Roar
my file. I thought Kommi said he was going to fix the pianers, but whatever it’s cool either way. Thanks for liking it guys; I’m pretty damn flattered.
          N/A

          Kommisar - Saddest RMX
Hard file, but it’s okay I guess. I laughed at the graphics, seriously. And the sample. Some jacks are annoying, but hard files can do that if they want to.
          weighted rating: 7.5/10
          unweighted rating: 7/10

Malice - Shadow Queen Battle III
I legitimately don’t remember much of this, it was standard Malice stuff. It seemed pretty okay imo. Other than some parts that are a bit obnoxious compared to the rest of the file, playable.
          weighted rating: 6.5/10
          unweighted rating: 5/10

Kommisar vs. MacGravel - Subterranean Kamikaze
Light is very cool. Simple, but flows perfectly, makes sense. I love how it never breaks into solo, but instead edges on it: that’s about as close to art as Stepmania files get.
          weighted rating: 9/10
          unweighted rating: 8.5/10

          Puppet - Szamar Madar
Doesn’t flow that well, but I really like this for some reason. One of the better VSnares files out there I suppose. Love the mines and bursts.
          weighted rating: 8/10
          unweighted rating: 7.5/10

          Patashu - Take This Life
What Puppet said. It was okay if it was half the length it was. Also those jacks are just plain annoying to hit. I know they’re technically correct and all that jazz (actually rock), but can’t you at least make an easier difficulty?
          weighted rating: 7.5/10
          unweighted rating: 5.5/10

          moches - Tokyo Banging
my file, kind of cool I guess?
          N/A

N.T.M. - Vadrum Meets Super Mario Bros. 3
I loved it. Almost everything was spot on, the jumps, the flow, even the sync was nailed (I would have liked to see less color notes, though). Fantastic either way; this is the first file of yours that I will play more than once. Just keep this up.
          weighted rating: 10/10
          unweighted rating: 9/10

nutshelled: Happy to say that this was even better than XM1. Lots of fun files, nothing standing out as terrible or dumpy. Surprisingly high replay value for a speed-pack as well. Looking forward to XM3!

I'm really glad you liked it so much!! Several reviews actually would suggest that this is my best file yet. I'm still trying to improve though by choosing more interesting and challenging song choices. And yeah, LOTS of colored notes here. There were so many times where it'd just be like a 256th note above an 8th or 16th. lol Roughly half the colored notes are like that. =P

                    Really quick review.

Alive - Good, nothing special 7/10

BLN - boring, I don't like long jacks, and the song is really bad 5/10

Dazzling Destiny - Good, but I found that 2-arrows-jack (I don't know the "official" name, sorry ) didn't fit the music well 7/10

Epidermis : A masterpiece. Venetian Snares + Scylaax is epic. Very fun and great music. (oh and Scylaax's french, bonjour ) 9/10

Knowing it : basically same as above, awesome simfile and music, 9/10

Night and day : the music is good, but the steps aren't that great, it felt like some parts were under-stepped and too easy... dunno 7,5/10

Plain Asia : great fun , the steps seem to be "random" and don't really fit with the music I think, but it's still OMG-ish fun to play, and again, omg great song 9,5/10

Roar : Waow, fun, well stepped, good music. 9/10

Saddest RMX : rofl'd at the sample. Great simfile (again, same as above.) 9/10

Shadow Queen Battle III : Same as above 9/10

Subterranean Kamikaze : I loved the ninja turtles games on SNES, I love metal, I love this simfile. 9,5/10

Szamar Madar : What I said before. 9/10

Take this life : I'm not fond of the song, I don't like long-jack, but the jumps were fun and the rest of the song was great. 7,5/10

Tokyo Banging : the song is ok, the steps are good 8/10

Vadrum meets Super Mario Bros 3 : Ok so... I thought this was boring. This was well stepped, however it was boring. I think that's because the music is way too slow, and because I simply don't think the drum fits mario bros 3 music. And I don't like the musics from Super Mario Bros 3. (yeah, I suck) 6/10

                    Yeah, do that please

This pack was great, better than the first Xoon Minipack, the song choice was awesome and the steppers are talented
                    9/10 for the pack ! =D

You know, I just realized that you could just take all the files from Xoon Mini 1-3 and release it as Xoon Megapack 3. This way, we can have "phases" of the pack released at once, then the whole thing at the end. Then Xoon Mini 4-6 could be Xoon 4, 7-9 Xoon 5, and so on. We could be the new SS. Without the suckage, of course.
