    Stepmania -> FFR issues

    I tried making a simfile for the first time, and encountered several issues upon uploading it. I created it in Stepmania, and everything worked perfectly on there. Once I uploaded it to FFR, though, the arrows moved up the screen waaaaay faster, the sync was off by 1 half-note, and the video wouldn't play.

    Also, I couldn't get resonance to play in Firefox for some reason.

    If anyone could shed some light on any one of these issues, I'd appreciate it very much.

    If you are talking about playing it in FFR Resonance, then don't worry about the sync, it always falters upon an upload.

    The arrows scrolling way faster is because it defaults to a speed mod (2x, I believe?).

    None of this is your fault, and your sim will play fine on SM.

    As far as Resonance not working on Firefox, clear your cache and see if it works then. If not, maybe try re-installing your flash player, or something of that nature.

    I figure though, if Resonance isn't working, then FFR R1 shouldn't be working either. Hm.

      Resonance should default to 1x. Resonance also ignores #OFFSET (or the .dwi equivalent, #GAP) which explains why every file that isn't on sync with an offset of 0.00 is skewed. Worry not, though. This does not affect your file in StepMania as Halogen has said.

      Resonance is garbage for playing files, anyway.
      Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)

        Sorry, I may have been confusing terms. When I said Resonance, I was referring to the player that comes up when you select the "play now" option in the simfile databse.

        I know that it plays fine in SM, but I would like to share this sim with my friends (who probably don't have Stepmania) and let them play it in their browser. Is there any way to resolve these problems in Resonance (or R2 or whatever is applicable)?

        EDIT: Offset is 0, and there are no gaps/pauses in the simfile.

          We're all talking about the same Resonance here. What Halogen and Xiao explained are what happens in the simfile database's level player, named "Resonance". There is no fix.

          Yeah, poor reverse scroll players such as myself can't even survive a pathetically easy level.

                Re: Stepmania -> FFR issues

                FFR Resonance has issues:

                1. It doesn't account for the bpm 0 offset that you set in the .sm. It just assumes it's 0.
                2. If the song is of an unusual bitrate encoding, flash can't read it at the right speed, which means they'll drift offsync.

                Works fine if you turn your speakers off, though, since the chart is intact.

                EDIT: Resonance defaults to 3x, but you can change the speedmod by altering the url's parameter.
