Kommisar, as a veteran stepfile creator, what are your favorite tools for getting things like BPM down?
I'm trying to step the Ruby/Sapphire Champion battle music (I wanted the Emerald Frontier Brain music because, let's face it, it's freaking HARD to get that far, but I can't find it), but this being my first excursion into the world of simfile creation, nothing about this is easy for me. The various stickies and guides out there all seem to assume that the user has some sort of tool for getting the values they need, or are aimed towards a veteran who needs to brush up on the basics.
If you like, you can even AIM me (qbsuperstar03) and walk me through it.
Oh my ****ing god.
K Komm, send me or tell me the name of files.
I will go a quick run of them, not caring if they are put to the pitch or w.e...
I will just make them fun, the way files should be anyways :P
To many pitch relevant songs going out and making them not fun...
I have a few in mind but...
Busy atm, will start tomorrow if reminded.. So just send me a PM and I will just work on files all day and send in like 10, which could be the Komm and WTF pack done in a day.
Kthx
Bad news, everyone: My computer is having some issues (it sounds like something's out of alignment, it's not a software issue or anything; the computer just sounds different), and as a result, work on my file for the Ruby/Sapphire Champion battle has been temporarily put on hold, and I can't have AIM conversations either.
I will let you know as soon as possible when this is resolved so I can at least finish the file (I don't think I've even gotten to measure 50 yet). XD

Double post...IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS PRE-SHRUNK AND COTTONY.
The R/S/E Champion Battle file is finished. Now I need to know where to upload it, though, and even then I don't think it's good enough to be accepted, but hey, it was my first file.
Edit: MixMeister said the BPM was 105.55, so I just doubled it to 211.1, meaning there's no chaos (16th notes) in this file. I attempt to make up for it with lots of more complex patterns in the second half of the song: chains, hands/quads, and what have you. I am philosophically against mines, however, even though I am of the opinion that strategic mine placement would hearken back to the difficulty of the battle the music is supposed to accompany.
