i looked at bat country through the sm editor

to sum it up; 0.2/10
song info and artist are written incorrectly
wrong bpm
incorrect holds
random 16ths everywhere
nearly nothing is correct with it

its as if you pressed ctrl r and tapped out random notes everywhere





clicked a random one and i ended up with what you know

review: 0.3/10
song is absolutely horrendous

same thing, you just have random holds and 16ths everywhere

next time for the bpm, look for a program called MixMeister BPM Analyzer. it will give you an exact bpm. however, the song might have changes, which you would need to adjust accordingly.

play some more known sims and learn techniques from them. thats pretty much how i started sim making hehe

btw, try to step better music. dream on is a good song, but it's not really fit for stepping very well

Song choice is pretty much everything in Stepmania. A large amount of mainstream artists would never work in Stepmania because they appeal to what the listeners want, and most people that listen to mainstream want a song that's easy to follow. Not much variation in music style. I say this because I see you stepped Fall Out Boy.

Now don't get me wrong, some mainstream music is pretty awesome. But it'd take someone with much more experience to step something like that.

I say take go on a theoretical StEpMaNiA jOuRnEy and find what you're good at stepping.

I get base bpms, with a tap counter, then edit it manually. I step mostly metal/rock now, so I calculate the changes without a program

No, most good artists get it themselves. I could tell you guys how. It's pretty easy, but you need a good ear.
