    Grade my stepfile

This is my first time making a stepfile, so i'd like some feedback/comments/criticism to make me a better stepfile artist.

    http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...p?songid=23276

The music I selected (Ride, By Samuel R. Hazo) was played by my High School's Symphonic Band last year. It's very fast and very fun to listen to, so i figured, why not try to make it a song to tap arrows to?

There should be a banner and a background, so let me know if those do/don't work.

Thanks in advance to anyone that downloads my song =>

    Re: Grade my stepfile

I was actually planning on doing a file for a Hazo piece (maybe even this one). Way to steal my idea

For a first stepfile, this was the wrong song to pick. There's too much variance in the BPM and meter for an inexperienced stepartist. I expected the song to be offsync and it was.

However, the file was actually pretty decent ignoring the sync-job. It was rhythmically very accurate and had pretty decent pitch-relevancy. But was very under-stepped. You ignored lots of interesting percussion stuff and followed the melody while ignoring the background stuff. The end was a good example of that, you followed the horn runs perfectly (which give me cold chills every time I listen to that song as a horn player ) but you ignored the cymbals/background chords which have huge hits on beat 1 of the measures.

Try some easier to sync music (computer-generated), and try to learn from more experienced stepartists. For a first try that's actually really good.

      Re: Grade my stepfile

Well, i think i'm partly biased to skip most of the percussion since i played trumpet in this piece myself, that and considering my skill is limited to "Challenging" on FFR, i probably didn't give this song the difficulty it deserved (I wanted to be able to play it and have fun at the same time).

I noticed that i had bad syncing problems from the start, but this was my virgin song and it started out as just an experiment to figure out how to use the editor anyways. Now i actually know what i'm doing and i can make them more accurate... hopefully.

Also, please feel free to make your own steps to this song, i'm assuming you're pretty good at making them, i can only imagine how much fun Ride will be to play when someone makes it accurate.

If it's seriously 64th snap ctrl-r and with a random bpm you can expect me to download just for the song =/

Nah, it's not. It's a little off but still playable. The bpm isn't constant but the file for the most part is.
