Creating .sim files

heya everyone I looked around in this forums and cant seem to find anything on how to properly make a simfile...

My question is I have MixMeister BPM Analyzer and it tells me the bpm of my songs that would best fit or w/e. But I upload them to the site and they're all fuxxed... Is this because I didn't specify my BPM in the ffr upload?

also how can I specify a bpm in the step mania editor? does it just go by User options or w/e?

Press F1 in editor mode in Stepmania to see what buttons do what.
