    editor

sorry about my last thread, i apologize. I have been reading the stickies and it seems that CTRL + R is the way to play the song and hit the arrow keys
but many users say to do it in the 'editor' Is the editor where it has those measuring lines and you can add the arrows using 1-4 ?

    ---------------------------
never mind that - silly question. I pressed CTRL + R but the song is just playing
im pressing the 1-4 numbers (not on the numlock pad) but they are not showing
    any help?

Okay. Ctrl + R is a very bad way to make simfiles, as hinted by hi19hi19 in your last thread. Just use the editor, and use Ctrl + R only to make sure the song is synced, or to get a basic idea for what step patterns you want. It is near impossible to make a good file with just Ctrl + R. What makes using 1-4 so bad anyways? In the editor, the arrow keys already have their own functions, anyway.

With Ctrl + R, aren't you supposed to use the arrow keys while the song plays, instead of numbers?

okay so the good artists dont use CTRL + R. nevermind i figured it out
does putting the BPM and everything effect a song on stepmania editor?
or is it possible to make a good song without any information, like just
putting the song onto step, loading it and editing it?
