    Is this acceptable?

I saw that someone's simfile was rejected because they used a BPM that was "double" what it should have been.

For my simfile, there are drumbeats on all of the heavy notes, giving it a BPM of 175.20. However, In the 1,200 notes I've stepped so far, there are only two 8th notes. About 700 of them are 4th notes, and about 500 are 12th notes. This is just how the song seems to have been produced.

Now yes, I could tweak the BPM so instead of 4th 12th 12th 4th, I have 4th 8th 4th 8th... but that would mean that instead of all the heavy drum beats being on 4th notes, the heavy drum beats would be on a 4th, then an 8th, then 4th... and yeah.

Does Tass/Shash/whoever else care if the song is composed mainly of 4ths and 12ths?

Most songs happen to be just 16th streams, so 12th steps are awesome in my opinion. So yeah, go for it.

If the song is actually uses 12ths, then you should step it that way.

Methinks the song is in 12/8 meter instead of the conventional 4/4. Even then, 12/8 makes more sense with 12ths than 8ths. Just because 12ths aren't used that much doesn't make them bad...
      yeah.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with stepping a song the way it's written.

There is a problem if you're playing with BPMs to make simfiles have more of the same color. As reference you can look at MAX 300, which could have been written at 150 BPM. I think that's what was meant when the term "doubled BPM" would apply to.

I'm with these other two guys on this, purple is a really sweet relief from red-yellow-blue-yellow all the time. =D

If the song is counted in 3, keep it that way.

Actually purple hurts my eyes but I have nothing wrong with them if that's how the song goes =P
