I'm making this thread here just for discussion. If it seems like there's some interest, I'll see about taking it to mods/admins and such.
You'd have to be blind not to notice the mass spammage of pack threads lately. Though most packs never get off the ground, it's getting hard to find the stray simfile threads in the midst of all these other threads. I know this sounds a little dumb, but I think that's part of what's causing this big slump in single simfile releases.
I want to know if the people here would be interested in separating the pack threads from the simfile artists' threads by having two separate forums for them. The title "Simulator Files" is a little misleading, and should be changed, anyway. It's not like anyone uses DWI anymore. One forum could be called "Stepmania Simfiles", and the other, "Stepmania Simfile Packs". That would also help with the stickying of new pack threads and unstickying of old ones, both of which need to be done desperately. There should probably be a moderator for these forums who is actually active in the community, but that could be dealt with later.
