Need a bit of simfile help

I've just finished creating a simfile, but for some reason, the file ends about 20 seconds after all of the steps (song is about 2:11 long). If you want the file, just tell me your email address and I'll send it to you.

I also want to know, what is the best way to initially start a simfile. As in the files needed so Stepmania will recognize them. I usually just copy another song's .dwi and .sm file and put it in the folder with the song and go from there, but that's probably not the best way to do it. If there's a seperate program needed, then it may be difficult for me to get it because I use a Mac, but there could be something like that.

I think there's one more thing that I wanted to ask, but I can't remember it right now. Maybe I'll remember later. In the shower probably.

    [email protected]
use the program located in the stepmania directory "stepmania\program\smpackage.exe"
    • go to create song
    • select music track

Ok, now that the song has been created for SM...
    • extract file from "my creations" folder into custom, creatively named folder e.g. "Foxboy9x's Sims"
    • Run stepmania.
    • Go to edit/sync songs
    • Go to your creatively named custom directory, then select your blank song
    • Select difficulty
    • Create with blank

You may also want to F with the BPM a little. This can be done with the F7/F8 buttons.
(just in case yeh didn't know.)

Now sacrifice a dire squirrel lol.

Re: Need a bit of simfile help

That answers one of my questions, and by putting your email there, I suppose you want me to send the simfile to you so you can figure out what's going on.

I remembered my other question. How can you take steps from one simfile and put it in another (like in another difficulty), or is that even possible?

Re: Need a bit of simfile help

Disclaimer: this information is for educational purposes only and not intended for usage in stealing steps from other people's sims to put them in your own and be a litttle ******. Those caught doing this (usually by me or by nforcer) get banned at some point.
        • run SM simfile creator
        • go to simfile to be copied
        • press spacebar
        • press end
        • press spacebar - the entirety of the sim should be selected
        • hit enter
        • select "copy"
        • go to other sim
        • hit enter
        • select "paste"

        OR
        • open up the .SM file with text editor
        • go to dance difficulty you want to copy (i.e. dance, single, light, 9)
        • Copy that section of the .SM file
        • paste it into the other .SM file

If you use this to copy other people's sims I will make sure you are destroyed.

EDIT - I have no idea what makes the sim just keep going, and I've tried pumping up the BPM at the end to make it go faster but to no avail. Can't help ya, sorry. However, nice sim. Even has dance doubles...
