I'm currently starving for new music to step. I don't like randomly picking songs on muzie because they tend to suck, and all other options have been pretty much exhausted. So...

Where do you get your stepfile music?

I get my music mainly from torrents and muzie. People also send me songs to step sometimes.

Friends who request;
My brother who listens to every type of music in the world;

Find an old CD and get a good song from that;
Game OSTs;

It takes awhile, but you haphazardly find amazing songs on Muzie. You just need patience.

Aside from that.. OCRemix is good, although I haven't used it in awhile. Some old simfiles are to great songs you never realized were so great, and if it's old by what I mean by old, it won't be a good simfile. Torrents, requests, etc.

Yeah, there's no giant universal resource. You really have to just listen to a lot of music, and then see what can be stepfiled. Song quality should come before whether or not it can produce a good stepfile. Find songs you like and listen to them. Once you have a lot of good songs, sort through them and find ones that will make the best stepfile.

Diversity is key when thinking of making simfiles. I would think aperson is great at this as well as some other simfile authors. I'm working on that myself as well.

Listen to a lot of music, and at the same time different types.

Basically I find songs to step from old sims that have craptacular steps or from random torrents. Occasionaly I'll take music from a cd I own and step it.

I remember when I used to search for random things on Ares and step them. Unfortunately those will never see the internet. Or maybe when I got bored I'll upload them. The two I have on bemanistyle are both old as hell and not great. Why not? hmmm

If I think of a song that I've heard of that's aremix ofa ddr sog or something, I look it up on Bemanistyle and various other places. If they're not there, I do them myself. Then, there are the few you stumble on occasionaly.

Not that I do very many.
