    RE: Read

    Go to the stepmania website it says somewhere. Or, make a new folder in the songs section of the stepmania program folder. make a new folder in that 4 ur new song. put an mp3 in it. copy some other .dwi and .sm into the folder. if u want, add a bckround and banner. edit the steps in stepmania and the bpm and whatever else u want chnged. not the best of answers, but ok...i guess.

      open note pad

      write
      #file:<music file's name go's here>;
      save as "<songs name>.dwi"
      important do not save as a txt file save as enriched text.
      now put your new dwi file in a folder with the music file
      boot up sm and go to edit/synch songs find your song and make the steps.

      if this is too hard for you i can make it easier

      omg its pikachu

        Go to:

        C:/Program Files/Stepmania/Program

        Open the file "smpackage". This will open up the Stepmania Tools main menu. At the bottom is a button that says "Create Song". Follow the instructions, and it will make a new song folder called "My Creations", and it will put the sim folder in there.

        Now just enter Stepmania, and go to Song Edit, Edit Song, whatever it says (different skins have different names for the options sometimes -_-). Go to My Creations, and select the song you chose to make a sim out of. Select "Make New". This should make a .sm file (and an .dwi file I think) for the song you are making.

        There, you can change the difficulty you want (either Beginner, Light, Standard, Heavy, or Challenge). Then, select "Edit Existing". This will move you to a new screen. This is where you can add steps to your song.

        NOTE: It is suggested that you don't change the Player Options and Song Options, as this often screws up the stepfile maker, often keeping you from changing the steps. It happens to me all the time -_-

        After you get done tinkering around with stuff, press Esc to enter the main menu. Select "Save", then select "Exit (Discard Changes Since Last Save)".

        This is really all that I can teach you, I really don't know anything else about simfile making.
