    how do simfiles work?

I have downloaded a few simfiles but having never used them, I have no idea how they work or what program is to be used to open them. Can anyone help?

    RE: how do simfiles work?

    It's a secret.

It starts with S. Then T. Then E. Then P. Then M. Then A. Then N. Then I. Then A. But that's all I know, I'm not quite sure what it is either.

      Stepmania.

      Download it from www.stepmania.com.

      To install your simfiles:
Unzip them / extract them / whatever.

If there is a folder inside of the archive, great. If there are only files (*.mp3, *.dwi, *.sm, *.png) then put thoes files in another folder with the same name as the song title. (or whatever you prefer, it doesn't change the displayed song title on the song select screen, it's just for organization)

Lastly, open up the stepmania directory, assuming you installed it after you downloaded it, and open the folder named "songs". Make a sub-directory named whatever you want the group to be called on the song selection screen that the song files will be in, such as ~> DDR 8th Mix -Extreme-\Burnin' The Floor (Momo Mix)
(DDR 8th mix is the sub-directory, Burnin' The Floor (Momo Mix) is the song folder)
Lastly, put the folder you created or unziped into the group folder.

      Run stepmania, enjoy.
