    The Overlooked Simfile Thread

I find that a lot of really great simfiles only get played by a handfull of people. Which is a shame, so in an effort to change this I want people to participate in helping these hidden files get more known.

    Here's how this works:

    - Someone nominates a simfile. They give the name, the artist and the author (bold the name). The may include what they liked about the file. Put a link to it at the end.

    - People download and play the file. If they like it, they come back here and post that they vouch for that sim. Please, don't go crazy and say you love evey sim, be selective and vouch only for the ones that really spark your interest.

    - I make a list in this post of all the sims nominated in descending order from most vouches to least. Obviously meaning that more people really love the ones at the top.

    Rules:

    - Don't nominate your own sims (duh).
    - Don't nominate anyone you know's sims. This includes people you know in person or on a chat.
    - Don't vouch for you own or your friends' sims.
    - The sims have to be from a relatively unknown author. No NVLM, Arch0wl, DukAmok, DTM etc... (not that they aren't awesome).
    - Though we'll have no way of knowing, don't ask others to nominate/vouch for your sim.
    - Please, if there is something else that would obviously be cheating, don't do it. This is to give unknown simfile authors a chance, not to advertize your sims.

    Vouching:

Ok there seems to be some confusion over when you should vouch for a sim. When you vouch for a sim, you are saying that you really liked the simfile. Whether the sim is well made or absolute garbage makes no difference. BE BIASED. You are representing you and only you. If you hate the song then don't vouch. If the steps are Index biased and you play 4 Finger and you don't like them (but you still think that the file is well made) don't vouch for it. Files that you vouch for are the ones that you enjoy playing and would put them in your Awesome sims folder if you had one.

    NOMINATED SIMFILES:

    Carezza - Kil - 3 vouches.
    AIRWAVE-08 - HST - 3 vouches.
    ErAseRmoToR maXimUM - Tear - 1 vouch.
    Vook - KwithH - 1 vouches.
    Lonely - eVILPeeR - 1 vouch.
    Yoshi's Battle - abntq - 0 vouches.
    Minenko Rock - Sword - 0 vouches.
    PANANOiA EViL -52 DECLiNE- - ddrtime - 0 vouches.
Healing Vision (Angelic Mix) - Varia - 0 vouches.
    Mindblowin' - djSmalls - 0 vouches.

This yoshi simfile is one that I found randomly through my searching and its by far one of my faves: fast, fun, and an overall awesome song. So I nominating this one for sure.

The song, W_I_N_N_E_R, doesn't make anything an instant 10. I don't think you even played the steps, because they were extremely horrible. You aren't skilled enough in knowledge terms for SM/DWI steps to make a judgement about files. I would rate the steps a 4. Steps were offbeat and bad.

There is one part that the arrows didn't exactly go with the song. I mean it went with the song, but since you used double taps for a certain a lot of the song I didn't want to see it be bad. It was around the middle, yet it was only for a measure. If you play the file you can not notice it at all though. You have to be listening to the music and watching the arrows. It comes by so fast. Anyway if you pass it up, no matter after that, great file. 9/10.

Not sure how underrated Spazzbite is, but he makes fun simfiles.

There's all of his. He uses jacks and jumps quite a bit, but oh well, I like them and they seem to fit.

Arrows match the song VERY well, notewise and synchwise.

The 64th notes don't go to the song, yet it adds a bit of fun to the file. Overall great file for 4 finger and 1 handed players. Much, much better than Skors in my opinion.

I like this file because it's hard but not complete BS. I think BMR made a sim of the same song but it was sped up by him. (not sure...) The steps are on sync and the graphics are pretty good too.

Snapps> I think I fixed those arrows now, was it the doubletaps in the slowdown?

Don't forget. You have to vouch for simfiles too. There's no point in a list with 100 nominations and 90% have 0 vouches.

                    I vouch for Kil's carezza.
And snapps, every note is synced in general, because carezza DOES swing a little bit, maybe not quite a 64th, but it does swing.

Yeah, but some of my files are overlooked.

Like DukAmok, he's a very popular simfile artist, but he has many files that no one plays, even though they're great.
