Help...making a an existing simfile shorter?

The song is, for my purposes, too long. So I deleted all the steps after a certain point...but when I play it, even after all the steps are finished and teh mp3 ends, the screen just sits there for the remaining length of the original song. How can I fix this?

try opening up the .dwi in notepad and deleting all the measures of 00000s towards the end of the file. Also get rid of the .sm or fix it there too.

Turn fast load off in "other options" then reload your songs. Also make sure that if there are any other sets of steps in the file that they are cut down as well. Also make sure that the last listed bpm change is not ###.999 or ###.001 or something of the sort.
