Im in the middle of creating a simfile for the whistle song by p.j. olsson. If you've ever heard it, you'd have seen it on a starburst commercial. I am having trouble getting the excact BPM of the song... I used a thing called DJMIX PRO or something like that and it got it wrong. There is a downloadable version of the song at the starburst home page www.starburst.com . Please help me!

Get WinBPM to find the BPM. Just search for it on google or something and you'll find a download. All you have to do is tap to the beat of the song and it calculates the BPM.So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OComment

We all use WinBPM. Me timing is inconsistent, so it's off for me too usually. I just go into Stepmania and manually change it around till it's right.
I also make a bunch of 4th notes through the whole song, turn on the Assist Tick and tell it to play. Rather than play test the steps, I shut my eyes and listen. If at any point the handclap is off from the music, I listen to hear if it's ahead or behind the music and change the BPM accordingly. I keep this up till it's really well sync'd.So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
