The end of 2013 pretty much marked the end of my stepmania hobby as a regular activity. I no longer had any merit or interest in the game aside from opening it up once in a while to feel a bit nostalgic. I've met countless friends through SM and been through so many different projects that have a lot to do with who I became as a person. I've made a lot of shitty files. To have reached over 450 simfiles I made a LOT of shitty files. These ones are the ones I found most important to my stepmania experience the past decade.

ODI2 - The Dirty of Loudness


This was my first file accepted in a major pack, and it sucked. GLoVE let it in under the premise that it was simple yet fun, but didn't want any more of these types of files. Got lucky I guess.


Red Fraction Pack - Kamaitachi


Choof and I were asked to join the judging team for this pack simply because of interest. Neither of us had any decent experience making files but getting on board with this pack helped us break out of our shell and make semi-decent files (his bf2014 and comfort betrays come to mind). This was my only file in the pack but it felt like I had put everything into it. Malice liked the solo file at least.

Dark Chancellors Pack - Cosmic Orchestra


Still one of my best files to date, with a bit of help from necros and jimerax.


Dark Chancellors Pack - Epileptic Crisis


My first collab with Puppet, did the xmods (which drew heavy inspiration from mcgravel) and toned down the easier difficulty.


Dark Chancellors Pack - Infinity


Collab with Linus aka DJ Lai. I remember getting into an argument with him over my abuse of holds and his left handed patterns. This was the hardest file I had made up to that point.

Keyboard Ultimix - Rapid Stream


After the demise of the Dark Chancellors we kinda took projects into our own hands at the noob end of the FFR community. This file was made with some guidance from Ducky whom I looked up to a lot.


Xoon 4 Red Version - Ars Moriendi


Making a pack with 100 files split into two "versions" was a really bad idea. But Xoon was probably one of the best communities to have been a part of. It's where I made most of my friendships that I still have today. This file was part of a pack of Tear's unreleased WIPs. I picked up his few mesures (like maybe 12 mesures done and horrid sync) and finished a mess of a file. Literally only picked it up because HST seemed hyped about it.


Dark Chancellors Mystery Pack - Bogey at Your Six


Dual chart collab with Puppet. He pestered me for months to actually do this file and I'm glad I did.


Xoon 5 - Chaos Maid


According to Lurker, this file was everything right with Stepmania at the time. Still one of my personal favorites.


Xoon 4 Red Version - @ Cinnamon Roll


Dual Chart collab with Gundam-Dude which started our Stepmania collab romance.


Xoon 4 Red Version - Fermion


I hated Malice's solo chart so I took it upon myself to do a 4key version of it. To this day, it's still the only file of mine Stargroup has ever liked probably.


Xoon 5 - Groundhog


While I didn't have much to do with the steps (altered a few spots to make the gimmicks work) I spent a good 16 hours doing xmods for this collab with Patashu.


Xoon Mad Pack - Minans


This holds a very special spot in my heart for getting me into the most un-listenable music on earth, MADs


Xoon 5 - Staring at my Spaceship


Best file I've ever made, pretty happy with having this as my magnum opus 6 years later (fuck it's been 6 years). Got into an argument with tsuka over sTePmAnIa CrEd after him saying I had only made shitty files my whole "career", then boasted how many people had videos of themselves playing his files on youtube. This was my response.

Vocaloid Collaboration 3/FFR Community Pack Autumn 2011 - Bokura no 16 bit Wars


Getting into the habit of making scoring files this came out.


Light Chancellors Pack 2 - Heavenly Spores


Began my Blitz Lunar journey with an indexable scoring file. Light Chancellors made as a joke to the late Dark Chancellors as we circlejerked over our somewhat exclusive group on Bluexoon.


Mystery Pack 2 - Counterattack of the Bronze Bell


This was part of a pack of songs Don sent me to potentially step. We would later meet in Sweden a year later over strongbow cider and vikingfjord vodka.


Mystery Pack 2 - The Ultimate Yakiniku Restaurant


Another collab with Gundam-Dude because we were stepmania gay for each other at this point (which mostly consisted of me saying "yo wanna collab" "yeah sure").

Light Chancellors Pack 3 - Demystify Feast


Another song from Don's pack of goodies he gave me.


FFR Community Pack Summer 2011/Otaku's Dream 3rd Video Game Mix - Dance and Zeal


SSH file of the pack. This was around the time SSH was making a comeback in simfiles during the dying days of Stepmania.


Light Chancellors Pack 3 - Hero


Best collab I've ever gotten to work on, and with Gundam-Dude. Huge sense of accomplishment after doing this one what with the rainbow rap solos and smooth aCcEnTz


Light Chancellors Pack 3 - Mathsma Attack


This became a pretty typical sort of Kommisar file with chipstreams.


FFR Community Pack Summer 2011 - Plasmatextor


Made this file in 1 hour 53 minutes just to prove I was a greasy fagget who could step shit fast.

FFR Community Pack Spring 2012 - The Big Crunch


2012 was a bit of a sleeper year since we were too busy playing mahjong/partying at anime north. Gave props to Danimal Cannon with this file.

ODI Pack 3 - OrBiTal


Finally got to do the dream xmod collab with macgravel I've always wanted, years and years later.

well that's it. I still kinda make files once in a blue moon but I feel like it's good to close a huge part of my life that's taken me places and gave me the chance to meet tons of awesome people. I've played this shit way too much but it was fun as fuck and we'll all still be around for a while.

chaos maid is truly one of the milestones of its time a stepmania monument I'll personally hold close to my heart for every occasion my mind will waver on those golde ntimes (I actually feel huge nostalgia over chaos maid and cinnamon roll)

The legacy you have left is an unforgettable one. Your style helped show that technicality isn't everything, and that the emphasis on having fun is what makes a song fun to play. From countless aliases you have given time and time again some of the greatest and most precious gems to the Stepmania community, and have inspired many of us, myself included, to aim for such a feat. Even though you may not be openly stepping and or contributing to the community, please continue to stick around. This game means a lot to many of us, and while many of the older people have come and gone, there are still many of us still willing to work on making this community thrive. Take care Chris. kommi i'll miss you and the old AIM days (where a few of us used to talk stepmans ie i think puppet, spitfire, icecubez, i think i even had chauster on there at some point), then the transition of when FFR was down for like a year and we all moved to xoon, made all of those xoon minipacks, came back to FFR, made more packs, and eventually even add each other on social media (ayy lmao). i never knew you too well individually but your files were da BEST and i used to copy your simple but effective style but at the same time get tips from people like puppet and try to make my files "technicals" too making what i think is my "stepping style" now xd

also the times where everyone would use made up alias and step to annoy the fuck out of the community used to be hilarious (like the puppet/ferrari thing in DCP with that one file, i forgot what but its my "only file" in the pack)

ps glad you found it in you to step one file for whats probably your last pack to submit to :')

I don't recall ever seriously getting into an argument with you. o.0 I think I even made the graphics for the file in question for you, haha.
