    [4Key] Red

So I was listening to Chiptunes = WIN Vol. 3 and thought that it'd be interesting to step something from that album.

    Anyhow, have a file: https://mega.co.nz/#!EwgkTTCY!008Ykb...UncF-kXM86b_UM

Will probably fix it up some more though and lump it into my Originals folder once I get gfx and all. Also, this file has roll freezes (like 4 lmao) so its best if you play it on SM 3.95 or above. Also, some dodgeball but that could be removed all together at the final version...

    Song: Red
    Author: James Landino
    Album: Chiptunes = WIN Vol. 3 [2014]

    Difficulty: Heavy - 9 [7 NPS with FudgeFactor™]

          First of all:

Nice file, the steps are pretty nice and fit the song well overall.
BUT, the mineplacement is somewhat awkward here and then, i hit way too many mines where i have been like "err wtf why?!"

When i began playing SM a few years ago i first was really pissed by mine-files since they have been confusing for me and i played more with my eyes than with the "feeling for the arrows/beat" , that might sound stupid, but its definetly not.

The "art" of mining a SM-chart is pretty fancy and i dont remember many files in which it was nearly perfect, but one of those files is that right here:

          AlexDest - London Hvy 9

Aside from that there are a few files from rogdor that have been great as well.

Mines can make a chart freaking awesome, because you are like "fuck yeah i can close my eyes and do that shit!", and on the other hand it can make a chart frustrating, which results in playing a chart 100 times to not hit any mines at all.., which shouldnt be the point of placing mines..

Anyways im looking forward to a "better" mined version of that chart since it got potential =)

          Cheers:

            Re: [4Key] Red

I liked the JS in the intro and loved the jack section.

@ 44-58sec + 136sec-166sec Yur layering about 3 instruments here that has/forms 16th patterns. However it felt very dull since it was a bunch of triplets. I dont wanna say it was randomly placed but the structure you have felt all over the place.
I see u put freezes on the triplets of the melody with PR, but it doesn't really help differentiate it from the other triplets.
This section could definitely use some work to make it memorable whether you add layering/column'ing a particular sound/color theory wut ever comes to your creative mind.

This is more of a style thing but I think it would be safe to use copypaste for the patterns starting from 75sec. Every time it repeats four times you could change it according to the PR of the rising sound that hits on the percussion.
This would prolly only marginally effect the chart since u already got the major components down and the songs rhythm here is generically fun to play with.

Choof's old obscurity is a good ex thou. In like 60% of the chart he stuck to one pattern and although it may look boring, if u actually play it, the repetition makes u "feel" as if the song is growing into u. obvly u wuldnt make it that repetitive. Changing the pattern by PR is one method.
