    Pokémon

I recently made up some steps for an intrumental to the opening of the original pokemon games. I was planning on putting them up on the FFR simfile database, but it won't work for me. So I decided to post it here. Here is what I was planning on having written in the database:

It's not too hard, and if you've been playing for a while you should be able to do well on it because there aren't any sixteenth runs or anything. Also, I did all the graphics; if you don't like 'em, tough cookies!
    Here it is

I'm looking for opinions on syncing and things like that.

i'd download it, but 6 footer? come on, make challenge steps!
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

I didn't want to make some ridiculous steps that don't even go to the music. That music is really simple. I probably could've made it harder but it doesn't really matter. I didn't do it to make challenging steps; I did it to make steps to a song which was special to me.

yeah, well, i always make several difficulties. like, for my Power Rangers song the most fitting steps were probably the Standard, i just made the Heavy and Challenging steps so i wouldnt get bored with my own stepfile. idunno, i just wish more people would make multiple difficulties. of course, i dont i make many stepfiles (2 so far :P), so when i do i have more time to do all the difficulties. actually, all i do is make the light steps first, then build off of them to make the standard and so on. it makes it easier, actually. well, for me at least, maybe u're different. maybe i'll DL them later. if and when i do, i'll tell u what i think (i'll just put on Quick or something so i dont get bored :P)

I feel like if the steps don't fit the best to the music (ie different difficulties), there's no real reason to make them. Why should I make them really easy? To be fun for really crappy players? Also why should I make them uber hard? To appease the masterful people? If I think the music deserves really easy steps or really hard steps, then I won't even touch it, because I know I couldn't handle it properly.

hmmm, just played it. they werent too bad, but some of them were a little off. looked like u were scared to use anything but 4ths, 8ths, and 16ths. some of the 16ths shoulda been 12ths or something a lil more off. try playingi it on a higher judge (6 or so) and see if they still seem as on beat. also, try turning Assist Tick on and dont even play the arrows, just close your eyes and listen to the music and the ticks. if anything seems a lil off, change it from 16th to 12th or whatever and just try moving the arrow around til it sounds right. finally, do all that at lower speeds. this may be a lil extreme, but some people will bitch and complain forever if things are offbeat a lil. most of it was good, but some was a lil off, that's all.

I didn't think it would be anyhting but 4th, 8th, or 16th. I'll look into those 12ths. Also I never thought of turning up the judge. It probably would've helped. How was the graphics? I was a little worried that they didn't fit too good. Also, was it more on sync than most of the nonestablished stepwriter's (by this I mean people who haven't really put out steps before) steps?

oh hell yes, it was a ton better than most of the stepfiles i've downloaded from here. it's obvious that some people to make their steps just select 32nds and just go through once recording whatever they hit. thus, most of the steps suck and are way off.

yours however werent done terribly like that, tho. some of the notes just werent exactly right, that's all. most people would play and not notice, but anybody with decent timing would complain. just move a couple of the arrows so they are more with the music and the steps will be fine.
