Re: [SM Wiki] Simfile Artist Database
What do you mean by sorted manually ? They are almost all alphabetically ordered, so it's almost copy/pasting data. Renaming them can be done in a matter of seconds with excel/notepad++, I can help you on that. Count about 6-8 hours for migrating the data at the very most if you're working alone.
For longer user profiles (ScylaaX, Gundam-Dude, Staiain, etc.), there's the possibility of creating a main article : a redirection to another article with the person's list of stepfiles. With title : Scylaax's stepfiles. Those are exceptions, the majority of the profiles are short enough to be added directly. Quick direct access like it was before. Only downfall, when someone wants to add a new profile (with simfiles), his name won't be added automatically to a list of stepfile authors - gonna do that by hand.
No need to. Titles of song pages don't have underscore (the url will automatically replace spaces with underscores). Unless I didn't understood what you were talking about x)
That is easily done and is far less work than renaming pages, just a lot of copy-pasting. The only potentially annoying thing is that songs will need to be added -and more importantly sorted- manually to each artist's page. Also, I will likely have the simfiles show without the artists name in brackets; example: [[(Zaghurim)_St._Scarhand|St. Scarhand]] so it only shows the song title.
I feel like the "Biography" part of the artist's page might conflict with the simfile database aspect and would be too much of a chore to sift through things to find information on a simfile you're looking for. Scylaax's page is a great example of a detailed biography, but seems counterproductive for quick-searching simfiles.
