Stepping | Noob question

Need some help :

I've downloaded DDReam Studio beta 6. Loaded the program, loaded the music, placed some beats, placed some notes, saved the file in .sm format. Copied the file and music in its separate folder in Stepmania. Loaded Stepmania. Loaded the song... And hum... the notes starts way too early, they are not synced with the music, and it fades to black before the song is finished. Waht teh hell ?

(I'm running with Stepmania 5, song has a lot of BPM changes)

How can I fix this ?

Well the songs ending early most likely because your last beat is way before the song ends, which will make the screen fade.

That's what I thought, so I placed beats until the end, and hum, nothing changed. :S

Song is 320 kbits/s, mpeg 3, reconverted with iTunes just to make sure. Still didn't work. I went through all the Stepmania options but couldn't figure out what is going on.

EDIT : Just tried with another version of Stepmania (3.95 CVS), it worked fine.................................. o_O
Also I tried with other songs, they work on Stepmania 5. Grrrrrr.... Dunno if I should reinstall. asdfdsfrewrqdsfsbfxc

Sometimes the song (mp3 file) f*ucks it up
It happened to me once and it f*ucked up as long as I was using that exact mp3

you can still try with other songs and see if it's really the song or ddream

As you said, it might be that specific mp3. I'll look for another and try that again.

also for the matter of songs ending, the song will only go until the last /note/ not beat placed.

Now....

I dunno.

I changed the file for the song (it's the same song, but not the same file), did the same steps as above). And.... there's no arrows at all when I try to play it....... ARGHGHGHGH The song did play all the way tho.

I'm pissed off. I will delete Stepmania 5 and work with 3.95. It's just very very frustrating right now.

Did anyone had problems with Stepmania 5 when creating a new stepfile ???

EDIT : It was really SM 5 that ****ed up the file for no apparent reason.
