Gonna bust out my foam pad for this. Nigs at cEnTrAL amUsEMeNtS disabled custom songs for a year and a half so we haven't been able to play some of the swag charts from r21freak

Looking at these simfiles makes me realize that I really should make easier charts for my keyboard files. At least they make good index charts at most, since I can barely do an 8 footer.

Also, if you're worried about the "Over-the-top r21freak-style graphics," why not try something different?

I'm not complaining about them. I like them. It's just that people in the keyboard simfile community tend to point it out.

Understandable, although I can sort of see where they're coming from. The transparent outer sketch is kind of odd...

I'll stop so the thread doesn't get populated with graphic critiques and focuses on more simfile quality.

It's cool though 'cause every community has their own niche and standards—you can instantly associate colourful, bold banners using 2134455132 typefaces with R21Freak without even thinking about it. There's stuff that could be changed/improved, speaking as a designer, but frankly no one cares and the banners are cool enough as they are and should remain unchanged for distinguishability and R21Freak's equity.

Frankly, if it weren't for me (yes I realize I'm sounding incredibly self centered here but this fact remains true regardless), nobody in the keyboard community would give a shit about typography and minimalism in GFX. I unintentionally influenced and changed the aesthetic skin of simfiles, rofl. If I wasn't around, we would all still be making anime gfx with shitty abstract renders and scanlines on top Tsuka style. Alternatively, people would be depending on Necros/Mollocephalus for pretty pictures even though he basically vanished off the face of the internet and even he does stuff that goes against designer standards. But yeah, I'll leave it there because I'm just spewing nonsensical bullshit that makes no sense to anybody except me and other pretty picture people.

naw seriously I'll bring some of these files with me next time I play ITG. I've been semi getting back into it
