Lol. There really is NO difference in alpha timing.
You're just smoking way too much weed dude.
The only possible anwser to this is you fucked around with timings and didn't notice
OR
The newer alphas' tend to run better. I have no idea how fast your pc is, but the better sm is running the better your timing will be. COuld have made the difference between a few greats and an AAA.
Because even SLIGHT lag (so slight you can't even tell really) can throw off your MA/PA because of the timings being only fractions of a second. Its alot easier to MA when SM runs better.

Everything goes faster in the new Stepmania, but I have a very fast comp and it ran just fine on Alpha 6 and below. There is a difference for sure. I've played many songs now, and my MA is about the same, but my PA is definitely lower. No doubt. My timing settings are just fine.
Maybe it's just my comp. Either way, I've been cheated of better/faster scores for more than half a year. I'll try a bunch of alphas on my laptop later. Dammit.
