    Razer Lycosa

I just bought a Razer Lycosa...obviously expecting it to be absolutely incredible for stepmania....I unbox it like a little school girl and open it up. I find out it can't even handle 3-4 keystrokes at the same time in Stepmania.

I was wondering if anyone knew if maybe a firmware hack or just in general why the hell such a "high end" keyboard couldn't support such a simple task. I've heard of great players using the Lycosa and I wonder how they do it without facepalming everywhere.

It's teh best keyboard EVA! good choice I've gotten it to register up to 6 keys: yuip[] (i play solo sometimes)

All you need to do is register 4 keys for stepmania that register at the same time and use those (go to options>test input to find a pair of 4 keys you would like to use)

I know that these will work together: dfjk jkl; xcvb m,./ qwer uip[ ui[] askl. and there's a lot more combonations but those are the ones i know for sure work

It may not be the keyboard itself that's the problem, but the keyboard settings in your operating system.

I know that I've had to change the keyboard sensitivity settings on my desktop PC (which is my main gaming rig, and is running Windows XP) in order to get various key combos to work in a lot of different games - stuff like UT2K4 and Freelancer, not just Stepmania.

(Frankly, the only problem I've ever had with my Lycosa is that occasionally the touch-sensitive controls above the numberpad will stop responding - but unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in fixes that every time.)

Does "because it was on the front page of the Gaming section and I had some information that might be of use" work as a reason?

Well, tough. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it :P

(It also happens to be true, but that's neither here nor there, I suppose.)
