Video Problems with SM 3.95

This may or may not have been brought up before, but I find this to be really, really peculiar:

SetVideoMode failed: Couldn't set screen mode

I get that error when I try to set the resolution from 640 to 800 whenever I am in full screen mode. Now, I found out how to avoid this by going to windowed mode in 640, then kick it up to 1024, then set it back up to full screen mode.

It just doesn't make much sense why it gave me troubles like that to try to go from one resolution to another in full screen mode.

That and Glass hung up on me a LOT, but so did the default theme. Might've had something to do with the resolution and this prob but it seems that I might have fixed it somehow. *shrug*

Just want to throw this out there as a very strange thing that I couldn't easily find on these forums.

So you just can't do 800 in fullscreen, but you can do 640?

Well, I'm not too certain about 800 in full screen, but I do know that I cannot go from 640 to 800 or above without it giving me that error while in full screen mode. I won't do that while I have it in windowed mode, tho.

Also, it is normal for the entire program to hang no matter what theme is used when logged into smo and when logging out? Sometimes it gets so rediculous that I have to wait > 3 minutes for it to get to the main screen.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3.95 various times to see if that might have been the problem, since I have reinstalled XP various times on this hdd already. But that didn't seem to really help.

edit: Okay, now I seem to have a bigger problem with trying to connect to smonline.us. It freezes SM3.95 every time I try, and normally have to wait 3+ minutes for it to quit being stupid before it say connection failed. >.> I saw on stepmaniaonline that the server is up, so it's prob something on my comp. =/

Edit　ナンバ２： It seems that stepmania 4 will not work either. It does the same, freeze up and then just disconnect. やれやれやれ。。。
