Re: BPM finder
your best bet is to go out and buy a metronome.
all the online ones are crappy, and usually dont give the right ones, especially if theres BPM changes.

Re: BPM finder
This isn't true, as MixMeister can save you some time if it does get the right one. And after using it enough you can identify when to just round up or down anyway. If there are BPM changes then yeah, get a metronome, but even that won't always help when you're stepping a classical piece or something, with multiple BPM changes per beat (it can get insane).
I use MixMeister BPM Analyzer. If anyone else wants to suggest a better one, go for it.Last edited by Zybanthia; 03-12-2009, 11:41 PM.Comment

Re: BPM finder
MixMeister BPM Analyzer, round to the nearest 0.05, adjust as necessary if the song still goes off (unusual songs or filling in songs can throw it off, and if it's nonconstant bpm the number it gives you is essentially meaningless). Not perfect but usually close.Patashu makes Chiptunes in Famitracker:

Re: BPM finder
Hey, someone else that uses Sound Forge. Awesome. Although I don't use it for this purpose, there is a way to figure out the BPM of a selection of audio using Sound Forge. I forget the exact chain of commands though.Comment

Re: BPM finder
xD ok i'll try it...i used to do it by a met, but it took a bit of time. If its that accurate then i should be ok...most of the songs i step don't have too difficult of a BPM change...as for ear, its really hard first time through...This isn't true, as MixMeister can save you some time if it does get the right one.
