    USB with ITG2

I recently just found a ITG2 Modded machine in Santa Clarita and I frequently go there. I actually want a USB memory stick thing. The only problem is that I don't really know how to do it. I've tried it with my USB and it didn't do anything.

    Can anyone help me out?

Try formatting your memory stick, then stick it in the machine. That will create folders you need to play. From there you should be good to go.

Make sure that your USB is compatible with the machine (FAT32 format). If the machine reads it, it'll automatically create an In The Groove 2 folder on it.

Formatting the USB doesn't work well. I've tried it before and the dedicab did not read my USB so I had to buy myself a new one that was using FAT32 format.

Before you can start using your USB you need to put it into the machine. When you do that it makes an ITG folder on your card, and you can add songs and whatnot.

Well the machine needs to have an update for custom songs (if this is what it's about) the corporation is here in Austin, TX. So I could go over there and ask as many questions as possible. What I've been told is that the machine needs to have the update r21 or higher for custom songs. It must be a .ogg music format and CANNOT be longer than 2 minutes. On the update r21 if the song is over 2 minutes, it rejects the song. On the r23 update (latest update) the song automatically ends at 2 minutes flat. Only 50 songs can be put onto a USB drive, if it takes too long to load, it does not load any song. USB has to be pretty much a 2.0 or else it doesn't work. We have about 6 or 7 different ITG and ITG2 machines in different places around town. I've only used 3 of them.

Have any more questions? Message me.

.ogg length patch works wonders as long as the file does not surpass 5MB in size.

A big thing that most people do not know aside from all of the above things said: check the technology of your USB--if it is U3, it will not mount.

Hahaha that's actually true. Makes me remember the days when it took me countless tries just to get my U3 San Cruzer to even read on an ITG2 Dedicab.

Good thing is, you can uninstall U3 from the USB itself. Just have to dig through the system preferences or whatever and you'll find an uninstall option. Once you do that, it reads perfectly fine. I did it and the dedicab would immediately read my USB in a matter of seconds.

Rofl, I completely forgot about that. I remember when I was in that boat too, getting frustrated, being a nub.

Most U3 flashdrives now come in 2GB+, and now they carry their own uninstall function. My new Micro Cruzer came with one, and after I used the U3 uninstall function, it turned it back to FAT volume, which is really convenient. =D

I lost like 4 flash drives. Then I cleaned out my couch and found them all. :3

So there's a specific flash drive I need in order to have both a record and custom songs?

Not as much specific as I would say there's just a certain TYPE. Most flashdrives are supported with ITG's USB hub. To see if your flashdrive is compatible, all you have to do is go to "My Computer" (if using Windows, otherwise I don't know ) and right click your drive, and then click properties. If 'File System' says FAT or FAT32, you can use it.
