SM 2 player question

ok, my question is, how do you set up SM so you can play 2 player with two separate keyboards? I have 2 plugged in, but both sides still only go to the one keyboard. Anyone know how to set it up for 2 separate ones?

Options Menu -> Key config

Make sure Player 1 and Player 2 have different keymaps or else it won't work.

Well, I had it so my set-up is ml26 and player 2 is just the standard arrow keys. But they still only liked to one keyboard.
