wireless dance pad & usb converter problems...

Well I recently joined this stepmania madness and decided to buy a dance pad. Unfortunately there seems to be no sign of detection from stepmania at all. I'm confused and need some help!

I bought a wireless "night moves dance pad for playstation 2" by PELICAN & a SOYO Kiky X.Series pc usb adapter. Unfortunately for me, I found out that the Kiky adapter is not compatible with stepmania. Which leads me to my questions...

It did not say if the wireless pad was compatible at the site but does anyone know if it is compatible with stepmania?

If it is, what usb adapter would work with the dance pad & stepmania?

And for those of you who know about Dance With Intensity: Is this wireless dance pad &/or SOYO Kiky usb adapter compatible or not?

    Thanks.

A wireless pad would probably be compatable though laggy. http://www.stepmania.com/stepmania/adapter.php has a useful list of compatable USB adaptors..the first one listed is the best, so I'd suggest to buy that.
One day there will be a really cool sig here. But not right now.

Wireless pad? I had no idea such a thing was made! As for USB adapter, do you mean one that hooks up from the pad reciever to a plugin into the computer?

            yes

& the drivers for this usb adapter dont even make sense. I click the only install.exe file on the disc and it just installs files to i dont know where. It then closes and nothing else happens.

As for the wireless pad, does anyone know how much lag would come with it?

Personally I've had bad experiences with wireless mouses...I have a feeling the pads will delay a few fractions of a second..but of cource in DDR that's the difference between a perfect and a good/boo.

I would also suggjest going by the list of adapters on the site. If you get the highest recommended one and it doesn't work with the wireless pad, I'd think you'd be SOL. If that happens, maybe sell the wireless pad on Ebay or something and get one with a regular old wire.

go to your control panel and go to game controllers (maybe called "gaming options" or something...the icon's a joystick and a gamepad thinger)
check that there's a controller installed that's for your pad. You should be able to go in to the properties of that and configure it from there, and then stepmania should be able to recognize it as a controller.

If there isn't a controller installed there, you need to install it in that menu...if you're not sure how, let me know and I should be able to walk you through it.
