Noobish problem

Well, this is the one thing I hate most about gigantic forums -- For every problem I have (and ever will), It has been addressed and fixed about five times on here. I'm also 50% sure that this does not belong here. :/


Anyway, My stepmania is all locked up. When I start it up, it can only select free play. I'm guessing it happened because my brother got into the options menu and screwed around with a bunch of stuff. I need to know how to get my menus back. Do I have to re-install it or maybe change some settings via the Stepmania tools and Packages exporter? I have some simfiles that really need some fixing and It's driving me crazy. I also can't stand my announcer anymore. please help.

Omg, that happened to me too. I hit the F buttons (F1 F2) until something changed, rofl. Try it!

Just to avoid all that troubleshooting I'd re-install SM. Seems easier, and it'll set you back to default, and then you can customize to your heart's desire.

Well, It's worth a try. I've had the "worms announcer" and I can't stand it anymore. >.<

Edit: Thanks for the advice, foil. I honestly wanted to not e-install but I'll resort to it if I have to. It's just that my computer is sooo slow. It'll take like an hour! :P

If you think you can get lucky pushing some buttons like Sappy did then by all means, push buttons until you get fed up with it. (I'm pretty sure you've already taken this approach at one point.)

I have a feeling you'll have to re-install anyways, lol.

Oh my god, Thank you for the rawrgasmic advice, sappy. I fixed it! So, apparently, F3 will change the mode if you press it in the menu. I gotta remember that.
