requesting noteskin

I would love to have a noteskin for SM that is exactly the same as Note, but with the following three changes:

-Freeze arrows should just be thin tails, instead of being the same width of the arrow, and if this isn't possible then they should be a dark brown color
-12th notes should be a much brighter shade of purple
-If mines are part of noteskins, make mines thin, dark purple "X" shapes instead what they are now

That's about it. The above are all ridiculously hard for me to read because of the noteskin, and I don't believe in readability as a valid form of challenge in SM (i.e. putting a tiny hold on every single note in a file should not cause me to get quadruple the perfects that I usually do, which is currently the case), so I'd really love a noteskin like this.

Mines aren't part of noteskins, although I THINK you can add a mine into the noteskin folder and it'll read that picture instead, never tried it though.

My noteskin Midare++ has darkish gray holds, though it has the Note+ colored notes, dunno how dark the purple of the 12th your talking about is.

I made these mines a while back, but it makes reading mines so easy it feels like cheating, so I don't use em.


ps, try my skittles noteskin just cause I want you to please, 3.95 noteskins btw, all of the ones I made.

I stand absolutely 100% firmly by this and always will, sorry. I do not and never have wanted to be given visual challenges in SM or any rhythm game, which is why I always use a C-mod for everything, even "X-mod" files. I also don't give a **** who thinks it's cheating.

I have them all uploaded on the FFR db, just search [TeRa]
If you're not satisfied I could go make a new noteskin in a bit being what you're asking for won't take long.

(PS, I did everything in skittles in paint aside from the transparency, yet it's not a bad noteskin, just not graphically as good as it could or should be probably, IMO it makes reading holds much easier than with the default stuff)

holds are the main concern i have. the fact that i can aaa the hold-fest jumpstream of terminal strike (after the quadjack) when i turn holds off and can't get a 50 combo on it with holds on really frustrates me

I tried those, Orbular has pretty nice holds but I don't like the orbs in general. Basically the holds ought to the really really dark and really really plain and undistracting, kind of like orbular's but even darker if possible, like practically black but not quite invisible against a black BG.

Edit: K, I made the holds darker and thinner (Orbular holds, obviously you can try it out on various noteskins. Just the holds in the .rar)

i tried it out

so the graphic for a currently held down hold is perfect, but holds are completely invisible until I actually hit them >_>

actually i think i'd like it the graphics for those were the same (upcoming hold = held hold), and the hold went 100% black if I dropped it.

A dropped hold and a hold you haven't hit yet that is still coming up the screen is the same graphic, you could copy, paste, rename the hold of the active hold to the name of the inactive hold, if you drop it it wouldn't change color at all though. Oh well, shouldn't be dropping holds anyway :P

basically what would be perfect is upcoming hold = hit hold = the lighter gray, and dropped = darker. if that's possible. dunno how SM reads these things or how much you can control.

ah, I see, oh well. in that case, just make it a bit brighter for hit holds...the thin-ness really really helps more than anything, darkness isn't quite as crucial.

If that's what you're complaining about, then try practicing with notebar or something like that. It really helps the mines to stand out and helps you notice them easier. This then transfers over when you start using a regular noteskin.

But... I'm guessing that you're still going to go about in changing it as soon as you can. Though I would appreciate it if you would take some time to try these ideas.
