ctrl+R jumps to start in a loop pls solve

i tried to search for this for the past 20 minutes

when i try to play my mp3 file in the stepmania editor it will start and then loop back to the beginning after a second

solve on this? i will figure out the rest but this little thing is holding me back right now

Don't use Ctrl+R. It's bad. Step it by inputting notes. Problem solved.

its not solved i want to do it my way and for the first time ever press ctrl+r and step a whole little piece live after that ill figure other stuff

Well, if you insist. Do you have only like one bar from the begging highlighted to record? Because, I don't quite understand what the problem is otherwise. If you have one bar highlighted from the begging, it will play that bar and once it's finished going, it will basically be back at the beginning, otherwise, I can't help you =/

i highlighted from the first bar to number 10 to test and when ctrl+R used it works
so i need to find the end of the mp3 file? is there a way to highlighted the complete file?

Well if you only want to record a certain section, just highlight that much. Also, what SM are you using? 4?

ya 4 but I'm seeing crashes like twice already

also when i use ctrl+r it will only use one arrow type like only 4th notes? thats what I'm seeing so theres no real freedom

Yeah IIRC 4 is still beta. I suggest 3.9 or 3.95. Also you have to change the note denomination before you record to be able to record notes other than quarter notes.

cool i manged to create some steps that fit the bpm so thats a success

No problem. Though, I must say, from personal failure, Recording is a bad idea. When I made files with Record, they tended to come out a lot worse than they could have. So, ASAP, start imputing steps individually =] Also, do downgrade your SM, 4 isn't the best bet.

Just in case.

Find out how long the song is, go to that amount of time using the page down button and the arrow keys.
Put a quad of notes at the very last second of the song. You can now Ctrl R the whole song. (don't do it tho)

XD I hope you are not serious when you say that. Ctrl+R is by far worse. And it's not that hard to step a song. Start off with easier songs/easier steps then.
