Noob question about note skins

Ok, so i just dl'd stepmania and decided to make DM Ashura's Maxx Attack my first song. It works just fine and all, but after looking at FFR for so long, the notes in game are really hard to look at and affect my play (i can only get an A). The three preloaded skins that aren't default all look the same to me. Is there any way to skin the arrows to look more like flash flash, or is there a skin out there that does just that?

Also, are all arrows skined the same throughout or does it depend on the song?

uh, i dl'd it, and selected it in the menu, but it looks the same as the others. Whats the deal?

uh...

before you go into a song push the button to select the song twice then scroll down a bit till you find it
