multiplayer online stepmania?

hey, I am wondering if it would be at all possible to play stepmania online, so like your friend could be player 2 and you could be player 1? I think that would be killer I guess both parties would need the same songs and shit, but would there be any way to make this happen or is it out of the question?

Omg that would be extremely diffcuclt to create since a serperate server would have to be purchased just for the multi, not including all the bugs that would come about through this. Also playing online against someone would probably cause a great "skipping" issue, which would really suck.

Actually, I was thinking about this, and I came up with a way to make it work without much lag. Too bad I don't know a programming language.

im not much of a coder, but in theory it wouldnt be that hard. but that also depends on the aproach you take.

dwi files arent big at all, it could be set up to were you join a game and it downloads the file prior to playing and stores it in a temp folder. as for lag, it doesnt nessesarly have to be in real time, it could just show the results at the end since you nessesarly wouldnt be watching the other person while yourplaying, and that would result in 0 lag. but there a a bunch of different ways you could make it work. i would truly love it.
